Director David Gordon Green’s Halloween (2018) returns to John Carpenter’s classic horror franchise, but does the movie have a post-credits scene teasing a sequel starring returning slasher Michael Myers? Carpenter first introduced horror fans to Michael Myers (Nick Castle) and Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) in the 1978 version of Halloween. Halloween (2018) picks up 40 years following the events of the very first movie, reintroducing audiences to Laurie Strode and Michael Myers (Castle and James Jude Courtney) while erasing all the continuity established by the original film’s sequels. As such, Halloween retcons the Halloween II (1981) reveal that Laurie and Michael are siblings, reducing that tidbit to a rumor about the two. In the new film, viewers meet an older Laurie who’s been greatly affected by her run-in with Michael Myers, while he himself has been a prisoner studied by psychologists since his incarceration.
Now that Halloween (2018) is hitting theaters, fans of the franchise may be wondering whether the horror sequel sets up another movie through a scene after the credits. Unfortunately for fans hoping to see more of the events in Haddonfield, Illinois, Halloween (2018) doesn’t have a full scene after the credits. But, die-hard fans of the Michael Myers-starring horror franchise still might want to stick around through the credits for a fun tease.
