Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse introduces Miles Morales and other Spider-People, but does it have an end-credits scene teasing the sequel? Over the past few years, there have been a number of Spidey-related movies released. Tom Holland’s Peter Parker joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Venom launched Sony’s non-Spidey Marvel movie franchise, and now Miles Morales leads his own animated feature film. Created by Brian Michael Bendis and Sara Pichelli, Miles has become a favorite comic book character, with fans calling for him to receive a big screen adaptation. That movie now arrives in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

Spider-Verse introduces Miles Morales (Shameik Moore), who lives in a universe where Peter Parker is already Spider-Man. But when Kingpin (Liev Schreiber) begins testing interdimensional travel, an experiment gone wrong sees multiple Spider-People trapped in Miles’ world - including a different Peter Parker (Jake Johnson), Spider-Gwen (Hailee Steinfeld), Spider-Ham (John Mulaney), Spider-Man Noir (Nicolas Cage) and Peni Parker (Kimiko Glenn). Early buzz for Spider-Verse has been extremely positive, so it’s no wonder Sony has already greenlit a sequel as well as a female-led spinoff. But does the movie feature a post-credits scene setting up either of those films?

Now that Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is hitting theaters, viewers will finally get a chance to watch Miles Morales’ origin story on the big screen. And those viewers will definitely want to stick around because Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse DOES have an end-credits scene - in addition to a mid-credits message. It should be noted, though, that this mid-credits message isn’t a scene, but something else that honors the legacy of Spider-Man in the Marvel Comics.

As for the post-credits scene, we won’t reveal what exactly is included - for a full breakdown, check back at Screen Rant for our Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse post-credits scene explainer. However, fans of the movie will want to stick around because the end-credits teaser works to both set up the sequel and offer one more (incredibly hilarious) joke. Reactions to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse praised the movie for its handling of the extensive Spider-Man mythology from not only the comics, but animated and live-action adaptations as well. For the end-credits scene, Spider-Verse continues along that line to dig into more of the Spidey mythos while expanding the film’s multiverse and getting in one last joke.

Since Sony has already put a sequel to Spider-Verse into development, fans will get a chance to see how Miles’ story pans out after the events of the first film. Exactly what the sequel will be about and which Spider-People from the first movie will return remains to be seen, but it will no doubt continue to explore the multiverse introduced in Spider-Verse. And, considering all the Spider-Man mythos left to explore, viewers can also expect to see more Spider-People join in on the fun in the follow-up. For now, though, fans will have to make due with dissecting the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse end-credits scene for potential clues about the sequel.
