Spider-Man: Far From Home director Jon Watts reveals the villain he’d like to see in the next Spider-Man sequel. After directing movies like Clown and Cop Car, Watts was hired to direct the Spider-Man solo film Spider-Man: Homecoming. He was then hired once again to direct the sequel, which is currently in theaters.

Fans have seen a lot of Spidey villains hit the screen ever since Sam Raimi released his Spider-Man movie back in 2002. Characters like Green Goblin, Doc Ock, Venom, Sandman, and New Goblin were all apart of Sam Raimi’s trilogy, while villains like the Lizard, Rhino, Electro, and Green Goblin (again) we’re a part of Marc Webb’s two Amazing Spider-Man films with Andrew Garfield. While Vulture was the main villain in Spider-Man: Homecoming, the villains Scorpion, Shocker, and the Tinkerer all had smaller roles as well. As for Spider-Man: Far From Home, Jake Gyllenhaal was cast as Mysterio, but the film also included the Elementals, which introduced Molten Man, Hydro Man, and Sandman to the MCU. Now Watts has shed some light on who could be in the next Spider-Man movie.

When talking with Uproxx, Watts revealed who he would like to see in Spider-Man 3. While he obviously can’t say for sure who the villain will be, he seemed excited about Kraven the Hunter saying, “Oh, I would love Kraven. It’s just the trick of how do you do Kraven in a movie?”.

While Watts seems excited about seeing Spidey go head to head with Kraven, Sony is developing a Kraven the Hunter solo film for their Spider-Man villain universe. After the success of Venom, Sony actually has several spinoff films planned revolving around Spider-Man’s rogue gallery. Morbius starring Jared Leto is the next film that will be released, but Silver Sable, Black Cat, Nightwatch, Jackpot, and Silk are also supposed to be getting their own films.

Seeing Kraven in Spider-Man 3 isn’t a for sure thing just yet, but it is possible even though Sony is giving him a solo film. Sony has kept their Spider-Man films separate from the Marvel Cinematic Universe thus far, but there have continued to be rumors that Tom Holland’s Spider-Man may crossover with Venom and Sony’s other Spider-Man villains. Kevin Feige has even gone as far as to say that a crossover is likely, but up to Sony. Kraven the Hunter is one of Spider-Man’s most famous villains, so seeing him in a Spider-Man: Far From Home sequel isn’t that much of a stretch.
