Fear the Walking Dead’s midseason finale established the next big threat for Morgan (Lennie James), Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey), and the rest of their people. The episode also unites the entire group for the first time this season, allowing for an emotional reunion between Alicia and Salazar (Rubén Blades), who haven’t seen each other since season 3.

In Fear the Walking Dead season 5, episode 8, titled “Is Anybody There?”, Logan’s reason for taking over the denim factory is revealed. He and his people were looking for Polar Bear’s journal so that they could produce more gasoline. Meanwhile, everyone makes it to the plane safely, with the help of Sarah (Mo Collins) and Wendell (Daryl Mitchell). John (Garrett Dillahunt) proposes to June (Jenna Elfman), and Morgan is contacted by a woman on the radio. Before they can learn more, Logan arrives to ask for their help.

The midseason finale of Fear the Walking Dead resolves the current storyline and opens up a new one with Logan’s return. Here are the questions that need to be answered when Fear the Walking Dead returns in August.

5. Who are Logan’s People?

Whoever Logan is working with to find Polar Bear’s journal, it’s clear that he isn’t the one in charge. Based on what Logan has told the group in the Fear The Walking Dead midseason finale, they’ll kill anyone who stands in their way, including him. If Logan hopes to gain the trust of Morgan and the others, it will be in his best interests to reveal more information about their new enemies in the midseason premiere.

4. Is Alicia Really OK?

Just when it looked like Fear the Walking Dead was about to kill off Alicia, Grace assured her that she would be fine, despite how much radioactive zombie blood was splattered all over her face in the previous episode. Though the midseason finale certainly downplayed what happened to Alicia, it’s still possible that her encounter with the radioactive zombie could come back to haunt her at some point in the future.

3. Where Did Salazar Go?

Daniel Salazar returned to help with the landing after leaving in Fear the Walking Dead season 5, episode 4. At the time, he explained that there was something important that he had to take care of. Whatever this task was, it appears that Salazar dealt with it, and is now able to rejoin the group. Hopefully, Salazar will explain his absence soon.

2. Can Logan Be Trusted?

Their first encounter with Logan ended with them being tricked into leaving their base. Because of Logan’s deception, the denim factory was taken over by Logan and the convoy. During Sunday’s episode, Logan didn’t express any remorse for his actions when confronted by Sarah, and didn’t seem compelled to make up for his actions when asked to help light up a runway. They don’t have many good reasons to trust Logan, so it wouldn’t be much of a shock if he turned on them again.

1. Who Was The Woman On The Radio?

Before Logan’s arrival, a woman contacted Morgan on the radio and explained that she had seen the boxes left on the roads. She supposedly needs help, but after the incident with Logan at the beginning of the season, it may be difficult to take any distress call at face value. It could be another trap - or it could simply be a plea for help. We’ll find out when Fear the Walking Dead season 5 returns.
