[SPOILERS for those not caught up on Gotham ahead.] - The name “Sirens” has an important association for the Batman mythos, as Gotham City Sirens was the name of a popular comic book series (built around well-known female members of the series’ supporting cast) that was created by Batman: The Animated Series co-creator Paul Dini and inspired by his fan-favorite “Gotham Girls” Flash-animation series. “Sirens” is also the name of the nightclub run by the female antihero team of Barbara Kean (Erin Richards) and Tabitha Galavan (Jessica Lucas) on FOX’s Batman prequel series, Gotham....

When Jerome returns to Gotham he’ll be teaming up with Scarecrow and Mad Hatter—and may even become the Joker. The midseason premiere of Gotham last night caught up with the chaos from before the hiatus, but fans still felt a Jerome-sized hole. Luckily, he’ll be back in next week’s episode beginning an arc that could just bring a true version of Joker to the show. We’ve heard the Jerome and Joker connection on Gotham will be something both surprising and satisfying, but there’s no telling yet what it will entail....

The E3 2019 press conference schedule is packed to the brim with studios, publishers, and tech manufacturers. One of the biggest players in the industry is skipping E3 and several companies will be hosting their first ever conference, which means that the race is on to steal as much limelight as possible. Microsoft and Nintendo are the ones to watch out for at E3 2019, as they will want to upstage their missing opponent with a barrage of new announcements....

Disney princesses have been evolving in recent years. With Elsa’s powerful solidarity and Merida’s rebellious notions, the new wave of contemporary Disney princesses is teaching young girls about emotional dexterity. Gone are the days where Disney females play the role of damsel in distress in hopes that a charming, handsome prince will come to save them. Still, it’s hard to ignore the memories that previous princesses have brought Disney fans, and it’s not as if Disney has ruled out character romances altogether....

Ask any diehard Star Wars fan to rank every movie in the saga from worst to best and they’ll probably put the Disney movies bang at the bottom (with the exception of maybe Rogue One) and the original trilogy right at the top, with the prequels floating around somewhere in the middle. But most critics aren’t diehard Star Wars fans, and when they write reviews, they’re looking out for more than just whether or not their inner fanboy is satisfied, so the Rotten Tomatoes scores of some of these movies might surprise you....

Dark mode option disappears from Facebook for iOS Facebook users have taken to other social media platforms such as Twitter to complain about the sudden disappearance of dark mode support. This includes Facebook’s support for the system-wide dark mode toggle in iOS, as well as the in-app dark mode toggle that used to be available in the “Settings” menu of the Facebook app itself. What this means is that not only will Facebook no longer respect your system-wide dark mode preferences, but there’s also no option to manually enable dark mode directly in the Facebook app....

Facebook was one of the main companies affected by Apple’s new privacy policies, which now require iOS apps to ask users if they want to be tracked by third parties. During the Q4 2021 earnings report on Wednesday, CEO of Meta (Facebook’s parent company) Mark Zuckerberg said that Facebook is “rebuilding” its ads infrastructure due to the iOS changes. According to Zuckerberg, Facebook’s ad infrastructure is being rebuilt so that the company can continue to deliver “high-quality personalized ads” to iOS users....

Universal has recruited screenwriter Daniel Casey to work on Fast & Furious 9. Chris Morgan took over writing duties on the Fast & Furious movies in the mid-2000s, starting with 2006’s The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (the third film in the series after Fast and the Furious and 2 Fast 2 Furious). Since Morgan is busy writing the Fast & Furious spinoff movie featuring Dwayne Johnson’s Agent Hobbs and Jason Statham’s Deckard Shaw, he will hand off the task of writing the ninth mainline Fast & Furious installment to Casey instead....

The first look at Close Enough teases the upcoming animated series from the critically acclaimed creator of Regular Show. Centering around a married couple adapting to all of the changes that occur when you make the leap from being a twenty something to a thirty something, the new show will be geared towards adults. Co-produced by Cartoon Network Studios and Studio T, the 13-episode first season of Close Enough will debut in either late 2017 or early 2018 on TBS....

Despite leaking online earlier in the week, Game of Thrones still offers tremendous surprises as The Spoils of War takes the battles up a notch. To say that HBO and Game of Thrones had a rough time of it last week would be an understatement. The premium channel was hit by an attack from hackers, releasing information about unaired episodes of the penultimate season, and later, ‘The Spoils of War’, the fourth episode of season 7, found its way online, giving thinkpiece and explainer writers a rare edge in the ongoing battle that is internet content expediency....

The love for the series Gilmore Girls has yet to diminish in the 18 years since the show first aired on the WB. Free-spirited Lorelai and her mature daughter Rory, the two must now learn to tolerate Friday Night dinners with Lorelai’s overbearing parents. The character of Lorelai became the epitome of “cool mom." With her laid-back attitude, immature tendencies, and sharp backtalk, fans soon fell in love with the TV mom....

Gold has joined the ranks of the many upcoming fall/winter releases that could gain some awards recognition. The Matthew McConaughey drama/thriller looks to be something along the lines of The Wolf of Wall Street meets The Treasure of the Sierra Madre. Those are high marks to reach, but there are still a few months for audiences to be ready for what’s to come. The first trailer for the film hit a little while back and sets up an interesting story based on true events....

Having entered its 15th season earlier this year, there is little ground that hasn’t been covered by Grey’s Anatomy. From the beginning, this series hooked audiences with epic romance, impossibly quotable dialogue, and fascinating medical cases set to an unforgettable soundtrack. Grey’s made household names of pretty much everyone involved and laid the groundwork for Shondaland to eventually take over television. It also reminded the world that 80s heartthrob, Patrick Dempsey, was still incredibly dreamy....

Daybreak Games’ H1Z1 has officially announced the launch date for the PlayStation4. After a successful open beta, the free-to-play game will be released on August 7. Players can expect new features and in-game content in H1Z1’s fresh attempt at reasserting its position in the battle royale genre. H1Z1 first appeared on the scene back in 2015 on the PC as one of the first battle royale games and helped to launch the current craze....

Blumhouse has revealed a brand new still of Michael Myers from Halloween. Michael Myers quickly became a horror icon following the release of the original Halloween in 1978 thanks to his eerie white mask and robotic body language. Sadly, his menace was greatly diminished in later sequels which turned him into a lumbering killing machine, and he reached his nadir with 2002’s Halloween: Resurrection where he fought with - and lost against - Busta Rhymes....

The role of Doctor Who has recasting the character built directly into its Time Lord DNA. The character’s ongoing regenerations allow the series to carry on in perpetuity, bringing in new actors to play the lead role in the storied franchise without having to resort to rebooting the entire show every few years. The notion of a new Doctor Who has become so commonplace that while those who had grown fond of a particular iteration treat the pending departure of an actor with some level of sadness, it has become something of an internet holiday whenever the new Doctor is announced....
