When it was announced that not one but two shows based on the X-Men universe were coming to television, fans got excited. To the surprise of absolutely no one, the upcoming disaster flick Geostorm is a really bad movie. In its defense, the film never pretended to be anything other than what it is – an excuse to blow things up and watch Gerard Butler do Gerard Butler-y things – but nevertheless, critics are taking to it exactly as you’d expect they would. What may go down as the most ill-timed movie ever, Geostorm is finally making its way into theaters in the wake of a trio of devastating hurricanes that ravaged the United States and her territories....
This is far better than the most recent season of American Gods, which received only a 58% Rotten rating with critics and a 67% positive rating with fans. Those numbers don’t sound so bad until they are compared to the numbers from American Gods season 1, which earned a 92% Fresh rating with critics and a 84% positive score with viewers. The drop in positive reviews coincided with a major drop in the show’s ratings, with one-third of the audience vanishing between seasons and one-third of the new audience disappearing after the season 2 premiere....

Gotham, FOX’s Batman prequel show, is finally coming to an end - with Detective James Gordon (Ben McKenzie) turning into quite the silver fox, as revealed in new set photos posted this week. Back in May, the announcement was made that Gotham would be renewed for a fifth and final season, 13 episodes long. Although the small but devoted fanbase was disappointed that the show will be coming to an end, they were thrilled that Gotham will have a chance to wrap everything up and show Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) finally becoming the Batman that we all know and love....

It’s often said that fashion comes back around again, and DuckTales was certainly the height of fashion when it aired in the 1980s. Well, it was if you were a child of the ’80s, anyhow, since most of us couldn’t get enough of Scrooge McDuck’s globetrotting adventures. News that Disney XD had decided to reboot the series gained a positive reception. Like many cartoon classics of our youth that have enjoyed reboots in one form or another, such as Transformers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, or Thundercats, DuckTales might now be viewed through rose-tinted glasses, but nostalgia hasn’t necessarily clouded our vision; these shows really were great....
A reboot of Dune, Frank Herbert’s epic sci-fi novel series about galactic monarchies and spice mining, has been something Hollywood’s working towards for a while now. Paramount tried to get a movie off the ground in the late-2000s with Peter Berg but balked at the risky budget. Not much happened for years after until late 2016, when Legendary brought up the movie and TV rights for the franchise. Even before that deal, Arrival filmmaker Denis Villeneuve had stated he wanted to direct an adaptation of the Dune novel, with his only reservation being that he didn’t expect to ever be in a position to actually do it....

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Jason Statham’s Fast & Furious spinoff movie is now officially scheduled to open in theaters on July 26th, 2019. Apple on Monday released iOS 16 beta 5 to developers. As we’re only a month away from the official release of iOS 16 to the public, today’s beta comes with only a few minor changes – although some of them are quite interesting. When Zoom was “killed” at the end of The Flash season 2, observant fans noticed how the character’s grotesque transformation made him resemble a certain other iconic speedster from DC Comics – namely the Black Flash. A grim reaper who punishes speedsters for creating time aberrations, the visual similarities between Zoom’s final form and the Black Flash were simply too blatant to be shrugged off. Instead, many fans began to wonder if Black Flash would be returning to The Flash at some point down the line, in case Barry or any of his fellow Speedsters made more mistakes in the timeline that they (once again) tried to run away from....
Star Wars creator George Lucas advised Jon Favreau that the upcoming series The Mandalorian should focus more on kids as its target audience. Although there were rumors about a new Star Wars series in early 2018, Favreau did not release details about The Mandalorian until later that year, when he revealed the show’s title and synopsis. The series takes place after the fall of the Empire in The Return of the Jedi, but before the rise of the First Order in The Force Awakens....
