Final Fantasy VII Remake’s director Tetsuya Nomura confirmed that the game’s story missions and side missions would be of equal quality. The upcoming game, which will be released in multiple episodes, follows Cloud Strife and his allies as they travel through Midgar and challenge a corrupt corporation known as Shinra. Although the game’s plot soon becomes far more complex, the first installment in this remake of Final Fantasy VII only covers the events of the game until the protagonists leave Midgar....

Guardian, the popular firewall and VPN app for iPhone and iPad, has a new owner. As first reported by TechCrunch, the app has been acquired by DNSFilter, a company focused on web content filtering and threat protection. Guardian was founded by Will Strafach, better known to many iPhone users as Chronic, as a way for users to protect their personal information like IP addresses and location data. Strafach was once one of the most well-known names in the world of iPhone jailbreaking....
A new report claims that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 starts filming early next year for a May 2020 theatrical release. Due to the secrecy surrounding Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4, not much is known about Phase 4 of the MCU. So far, the only film with an official release date is the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming which will kick Phase 4 off next summer following Avengers 4. Orion Pictures’ Gretel and Hansel, a retelling of classic fairy tale Hansel and Gretel starring Sophia Lillis and Sammy Leakey as the titular pair, has begun filming in Dublin, the studio announced. The original story about a brother and sister kidnapped by a child-eating witch has origins going far back in time, but its most famous version was of course published by the Brothers Grimm in 1812. An opera version of Hansel and Gretel debuted in 1893, and later the characters arrived on film in Walt Disney’s 1932 short Babes in the Woods....

Prolific comic book writer Jeff Lemire is well known for his immersive Black Hammer comics, a fantastic and creative riff on the superhero genre. In 2017, he began to expand the Black Hammer universe by launching a series of spinoff books, each featuring a single character from his superhero team. These are collectively referred to as the “Hammerverse,” and they’re some of the best original comics out there. Lemire’s career has gone from strength to strength, including popular stints at both Marvel and DC, but he’s still kept coming back to the Hammerverse....
