The idea of one comic writer throwing shade at a predecessor may surprise casual fans, but one can’t ignore that without key aspects of the characters being subverted, ignored, or destroyed, neither Green Arrow nor Black Canary would have needed a ‘rebirth’ in the first place....

Earlier today, a questionable leak suggested that the iPhone 14’s pill-plus-hole-shaped cutouts wouldn’t look quite like earlier rumors had said. Now, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman is corroborating this, saying that Apple is planning to make the two cutouts look seamless rather than separated when in use. iPhone 14 Pro notch changes The rumors around the iPhone 14’s notch replacement have gone through multiple iterations over the last year. Initially, reports said the iPhone 14 Pro would use a single hole-punch cutout similar to many Android phones....

Grocery, a smart shopping list app created by independent developer Conrad Stoll, was updated on Monday to version 3.0. With the update, the app gets a refreshed interface, as well as new features and more options for users of the free version. Main characters die and come back to life on the show multiple times, usually thanks to the legendary Dragon Balls the show is named for. After all, when you can get any wish you want by bringing together the seven Dragon Balls, a lot of the good-hearted characters think to bring back their dead friends....

If you were a kid in the early-’90s there’s absolutely no way you missed a single episode of, what was arguably, the best show on TV at the time - The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Airing during the Fox Kids programming block in 1993, the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers television show was created by Haim Saban and based on the wildly popular and long-running Japanese program Kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger. In fact, most of the action scenes involving the Rangers wearing their helmets is taken from the Japanese-made Super Sentai series....

2K Games have announced that they are shutting down the servers for Turtle Rock Studios’ Evolve. The first-person shooter’s dedicated servers are set to go down on September 3, 2018 on both consoles and PC. This will also mean the end for several features including the ranked online play, leaderboards, and the in-game store (so those with in-game currency will want to spend it before that date). The cooperative shooter released in February of 2015 with lofty expectations due to the developer’s previous work on the Left 4 Dead series....

It has been less than a week since Netflix’s Luke Cage series premiered, and even though it’s a good bet many a Marvel fan (or not) has already binged the season in its entirety, there’s still plenty about the series to discuss. Several characters were introduced throughout its 13-episode run, and while a good many of them were on the same side of justice as the show’s titular hero, there were those who chose to operate on the other side of the law....

While Fifty Shades Darker exceeds its predecessor in some ways, in other respects it’s just as ridiculous (if not more so) by comparison. Die Hard is the greatest Christmas story ever told, according to the newly recut trailer released by Fox. Celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, Die Hard, in case anybody didn’t know, tells the story of John McClane. Attempting to visit his family for the holidays, the New York police officer finds himself embroiled in a terrorist plot at his estranged wife’s office building. The film broke the 80’s action-movie mold, delivering a less superhuman, more relatable protagonist than those embodied by Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone....

Somewhat surprisingly, the most controversial movie of the summer of 2016 isn’t a film with any sort of incendiary political theme. It’s the reboot of Ghostbusters. Ever since the film was announced two years ago - along with the news that the four Ghostbusters would be played by women (Melissa McCarthy, Kristin Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones), a lot of diehard fans of the original have been forcefully condemning the project....

Rodan flies in a new viral video for Godzilla: King of the Monsters. The MonsterVerse is set to grow in a big way early next year with Mike Dougherty’s sequel to 2014’s Godzilla. The titular main monster will eat up much of the screen time, but the sequel is also set to introduce several other new creatures to the world. As the title suggests, Godzilla: King of the Monsters is going to attempt to prove how Godzilla got this name, which may be needed before he battles Kong in Godzilla vs....

Downton Abbey releases the first look at the highly anticipated feature film based on the hit television series when the debut of the teaser trailer. The Downton Abbey movie will be released in September 2019. The series, which originally aired from 2010 to 2016, featured the stories of the Crawley family, the aristocrats of the titular manor house and the servants who attended to them. Written solely by creator Julian Fellowes, who struck gold with a similar story when he won the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay for 2001’s Gosford Park, Downton Abbey earned acclaim from audiences and critics alike, winning 15 Emmys and three Golden Globes during its run....

Disney’s Dwayne Johnson-led Jungle Cruise movie has been officially pushed back to a 2020 release date. The film is (of course) based on Disneyland’s classic Adventureland theme park attraction, which takes guests on a early 20th century-style riverboat tour around the world’s various jungles. Johnson is starring in the historical action-adventure as, reportedly, a riverboat captain who teams up with a scientist (Emily Blunt) to undertake an expedition in South America, in search of a legendary tree that may or may not possess supernatural abilities....

In the third episode of its fifth season, Fear the Walking Dead aims to mix genres up a little bit by putting its resident gunslinger, John Dorie (Garret Dillahunt), in a Wild West-style shootout. Season 5 is just getting started, but co-showrunners Ian Goldberg and Andrew Chambliss have instituted a new direction for the zombie spinoff, putting the survivors led by Lennie James’s Morgan in charge of trying to make the world a better place....

Fox will not renew Wayward Pines for a third season, bringing the M. Night Shyamalan-produced series to a disappointing end. But despite the short-lived show coming to a close, it did briefly experience some success. Shyamalan has returned to form in recent years after a string of duds on the big screen, delivering the well-received and appropriately creepy thrillers The Visit and Split. Many would also point to Wayward Pines as a welcome return to glory for Shyamalan, who directed the pilot and served as executive producer....

FuboTV, the popular live TV streaming platform, is rolling out a notable update to its Apple TV application today. The update brings a handful of new features that expand upon the popular Multiview functionality, which allows sports fans to watch up to four games at once on the same screen. Fubo announced the update in a blog post today, explaining that Multiview has been incredibly popular among Apple TV users since it rolled out in 2020....

Fans of Michael Bay’s Transformers movies (or the Transformers franchise in general) have a fifth official installment of the film series to look forward to in The Last Knight, but Hasbro already has bigger plans for the series involving a slew of spinoffs and a run of new franchise-starters comprised of their other popular brands like G.I. Joe, M.A.S.K., Micronauts and ROM: Spaceknight. The ultimate goal here is to create a “Hasbro Cinematic Universe” to rival the sprawling multi-film continuities established by DC and Marvel....
