Glass star Samuel L. Jackson reveals the film’s original ending was changed during production due to real-world events. Glass is the belated sequel to 2000’s Unbreakable, which starred Bruce Willis as an ordinary man who discovers he might be invincible following a tragic accident. The film was director M. Night Shyamalan’s follow-up to his breakthrough hit The Sixth Sense, but despite receiving good reviews it was considered by the studio to be a financial disappointment....

Google is rolling out a trio of productivity updates to its iPhone and iPad productivity apps. Notably, Gmail will get a homescreen widget, while iOS Picture-in-Picture is now available for Google Meet. Update 1/11/22: Version 6.0.211226 of Gmail from yesterday rolls out the new “Email updates” widget. It joins the existing “Quick email actions” homescreen item. Original 11/10/21: Gmail is getting another widget on iOS after the original was quietly removed sometime in the past year....

The second trailer for Godzilla: King of the Monsters is now online, following its debut at the 2018 Comic Con Experience (CCXP) in São Paulo, Brazil. It’s been four years now since Godzilla came (literally) roaring back to life on the big screen in Gareth Edwards’ 2014 reboot of the franchise. Shortly after the film hit theaters, Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures announced plans to give King Kong a similar makeover in the form of Kong: Skull Island, an origin story for the Eighth Wonder of the World....

40 year after John Carpenter’s seminal horror classic Halloween, Laurie Strode (played by Jamie Lee Curtis) and Michael Myers (played by both Nick Castle and newcomer James Jude Courtney) are facing off yet again. In the sequel’s first official images, Strode and Myers continue what they started all the way back in 1978 on Halloween night. Having spent the last four decades awaiting Michael Myers’ return, Laurie Strode has since become not only a mother, but a grandmother....

Halloween co-writer Danny McBride hopes the new sequel doesn’t ruin the childhoods of many longtime fans. The original Halloween turns 40 in 2018, and is still revered as a classic of the genre. It also inspired a wave of slasher movies – including Friday The 13th - and the movie itself would receive a host of sequels and remakes. The continuity of the series became progressively more labyrinthine and twisted with each new entry, and producers have hit the reboot switch more than once....

With all the talk surrounding Peter Capaldi leaving Doctor Who and who might replace him, it’s easy to forget that there’s still a whole season and a Christmas special before the Doctor actually regenerates again. Dwayne Johnson had a lot of fun surviving earthquakes, tidal waves and other various forms of mayhem as the heroic helicopter pilot in the 2015 disaster movie San Andreas. Johnson will be returning to the large-scale disaster genre in 2018 with Rampage, an adaptation of the entertainingly mindless ’80s arcade game that lets players play as giant monsters destroying buildings. The movie will even reunite Johnson with San Andreas director Brad Peyton....

Spider-Man’s latest cinematic outing, Far From Home, recently swung into theaters (the pun was impossible to resist, sorry) and, despite having to follow Avengers: Endgame, it has left fans across the world satisfied and dying to see more. Across eight theatrically released movies (so far), we’ve seen three actors play Spider-Man in live-action movies and a handful of voice actors play interdimensional Spideys in last year’s gorgeous animated adventure Into the Spider-Verse....

Bethesda Studios could be facing a class action lawsuit for their handling of Fallout 76 backlash. Player furor over the latest in the Fallout franchise has been steadily growing over the past month. While the developer recently issued an apology and promised more transparency in the future, it appears to be too little too late. A law firm has taken notice of the complaints directed at the developer and has announced plans to investigate....

Fargo TV series creator Noah Hawley confirms that he has an idea for season 4 of the acclaimed FX adaptation/continuation of the Coen brothers’ 1996 hit, but says time is definitely not on his side right now. Since season 3 ended, Hawley has been attached to a number of projects, including the second season of Legion, an adaptation of Kurt Vonnegut’s Cat’s Cradle, a Doctor Doom film at 20th Century Fox, and the upcoming astronaut film Pale Blue Dot, starring Natalie Portman and Jon Hamm....

Of the more than a dozen titles to be found in the Final Fantasy franchise, the seventh numbered entry is often singled out as the greatest. Released in 1997, it transitioned the series from two-dimensional sprites to three-dimensional polygonal models using the PlayStation’s magnificent power. Its looks may be dated, but the whole package still holds up today, and newer generations of gamers are still discovering this magical adventure. Ask anyone why the game is so revered and there is bound to be a variety of answers....

Mädchen Amick who plays Cooper family matriarch Alice on The CW’s hit series Riverdale revealed the first look at the newest member of the family, Chic, on social media. At the end of the show’s first season Betty (Lili Reinhart) and Polly (Tiera Skovbye) learned they had a brother named Chic who their parents gave up for adoption after getting pregnant in high school. Newcomer Hart Denton was cast as the “rough around the edges” character with a mysterious past who is set to reunite with his family in the show’s currently airing second season....

The X-Men franchise that launched the comic book movie craze back in 2000 is officially dead following the release of Dark Phoenix. Fox has merged with Disney, so Marvel Studios has the rights to the characters back and they’re going to reboot them all. That means there are dozens of characters we’ll never get to see again. By the way, Deadpool doesn’t count, because we won’t have to miss him. Disney is still committed to making R-rated Deadpool movies with Ryan Reynolds in the role....

The first G.I. Joe spinoff movie, Snake Eyes, has found its director and release date. Paramount and Allspark Pictures are moving forward with plans to create a cinematic universe of their own. Their desire is to crossover a variety of Hasbro products on the big screen, with Bumblebee potentially launching the universe. Before such a crossover happens though, they’ll set up or reintroduce key IPs. G.I. Joe is one of the properties they hope to bring back to the big screen, after the last franchise lasted just two films....

A Game of Thrones fan has built a neural network and trained it to write the next book in the A Song of Ice and Fire series. Fans have been waiting for a new novel from George R.R. Martin since A Dance with Dragons was released in 2011. At this point, the Game of Thrones TV show has far surpassed the source material novels, killing characters that haven’t died in the books yet, and revealing major details that Martin is yet to disclose in his writing....
