A few months after its reveal at Google I/O 2021, Google started rolling out its new Android TV remote in the Google TV app last month. Now, the company is confirming plans to bring the same functionality to the Google Home app on Android and iOS devices. In a community post today, Google confirmed plans to add a remote for Google TV and Android TV devices to the Home app. This would live alongside the option in the Google TV app....

James Gunn confirms that a Wal Rus Easter Egg was in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. One of the best surprises that came with iOS 15.4 beta, which was released Thursday for developers, is a new option to enable Face ID when wearing a mask without the need to have an Apple Watch. What’s even better about this feature is that it works with Apple Pay and even apps. As we previously covered here, iOS 15.4 beta features a new “Use Face ID With a Mask” option, which lets users rescan their faces to unlock the iPhone when wearing a mask....

In a recent interview, former Visceral creative director Ben Wanat briefly resurrected Dead Space 4 to describe what they had planned for the long-lost game. The survival-horror sci-fi franchise debuted to critical acclaim in 2008. It earned a pair of sequels along with a variety of spin-offs and other media before disappearing after the disappointing Dead Space 3. Wanat later moved on to work Crystal Dynamics. while last year Electronic Arts dissolved Visceral games entirely....

Two major video game players may lose their share of the Chinese market, as reports have emerged suggesting that both Fortnite and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds have been banned from in China altogether. Both games were big fixtures of the online multiplayer communities in China, but may not be permitted to return since they have not been designated as needing “corrective action” but rather appear to have been banned outright. Earlier this month, the Chinese government moved forward with its new Online Ethics Review Committee, a government body that exists solely to review online games and determine whether or not they violate Chinese social and ethical rules....

Mere days after the Fortnite’s latest weapon, the compact SMG, was added to the game, the gun had to be altered for being too overpowering. The new gun, which was surprisingly fast, accurate, and strong, allowed its wielder to decimate opposing players and their buildings, making the matches less about skill and more about who reached the SMG first. After an outcry from players, developer Epic Games has responded by reducing the accuracy, damage, and fire rate of the new weapon, as well as that of previously existing SMGs....

The season 7 finale of Game of Thrones wasn’t as action-packed as some of the other installments of the fantasy series. Marketing has been pulling out all the stops these past few months with the final Godzilla: King of the Monsters teaser released last week. Godzilla: King of the Monsters is one of 2019’s biggest movies. In a recent Fandango survey, the film ranked third in most anticipated summer movies, beating out films like The Lion King and Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw....
