New character breakdowns have arrived for Hobbs & Shaw teasing the villain and new family members fans will meet in the Fast & Furious spinoff. While the Fast & Furious series has grossed over $5 billion worldwide across eight films, things have so far stuck to the core story outside of Tokyo Drift. But with the cast continuing to expand and the films drawing huge numbers at the global box office, Universal Pictures is finally ready to try their luck with a proper spinoff when Hobbs & Shaw arrives in August of 2019....

Friends continues to be a very popular TV show in big part thanks to its time in the world of streaming (although it’s now waiting until HBO Max launches), which has also allowed viewers to catch details and mistakes that hadn’t been pointed out before – like that time there were two Phoebes in the same scene. Created by David Crane and Marta Kauffman, Friends made its debut on NBC in 1994 and came to an end in 2004 after ten successful seasons and lots of memorable moments and jokes....

Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot, who has become one of Hollywood’s hottest actresses off the success of the DCEU standalone, is reportedly in talks to next star in director Justin Kurzel’s gritty WWII revenge drama Ruin. Wonder Woman 2 is also on Gadot’s slate, with Patty Jenkins returning to direct with an eye toward a late 2019 release. Before Wonder Woman 2 gets off the ground, Gadot will make one more appearance as the goddess-turned-superhero in the Joss Whedon/Zack Snyder-directed DCEU extravaganza Justice League....

George R.R. Martin told Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss that Bran (Isaac Hempstead Wright) would be the king of Westeros. It’s been more than a week since the HBO juggernaut series based on A Song of Ice and Fire wrapped up its eight-year run. Its final 80-minute outing was full of surprises - the first half of which was spent tackling the aftermath of Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) going on full Mad Queen and burning the King’s Landing to the ground....

Spotify’s popular Wrapped experience is now available that pulls together all of your most listened-to tracks, artists, genres, and more. This year there’s also a “Listening Personality” test to reveal what your music taste says about you. Gina Rodriguez won a Golden Globe for playing Jane Gloriana Villanueva on Jane the Virgin. Now she is appearing in movies like, Deepwater Horizon and Annihilation, and lending her voice to animated roles like Kolka in Smallfoot and the titular role in Netflix’s Carmen Sandiego. Her latest movie is Miss Bala, where she plays Gloria Meyer, a woman who gets caught up in the war between the drug cartels and the DEA....

Godzilla, the famed King of the Monsters, has officially joined Twitter and Instagram. Godzilla has been enjoying a massive resurgence in recent years. A new Hollywood movie was released in May, and will be followed by Godzilla vs. Kong in March 2020. The monster will also have his own panel at Comic-Con this week. It’s certainly a good time to be a Godzilla fan. Collectibles are being released, there are new movies, and TOHO itself has been making greater strides to be connected with fans outside Japan....

Following the release of the first teaser trailer for Godzilla: Resurgence - the forthcoming property installment from Toho, the Japanese film studio that originated the titular King of the Monsters on the big screen in 1954 - anticipation for another Godzilla movie coming from its country of origin has elicited noticeable interest from many fans of the infamous Kaiju. The new film will be co-directed by Hideaki Anno and Shinji Higuchi, the writing duo behind the popular Neon Genesis Evangelion anime, and will not be at all connected to director Gareth Edwards’ upcoming Godzilla 2....

Gotham is a busy show, and necessarily so. At times it seems the series continues out of force of habit, that no one in particular is piloting the ship, so characters find themselves pushed headlong into crazy storylines because that’s what Gotham does. The deliberate aimlessness that has kept the series from realizing its full potential is certainly on display in the season 4 midseason premiere ‘Pieces of a Broken Mirror’, which, for the most part, is more devoted to playing catchup than it is progressing the many storylines left by the series back in December....

[SPOILERS AHEAD for those not caught up on Gotham season 2.] - “Rise of the Villains” was the self-proclaimed theme for the first half of Gotham season 2, but things will change when the show resumes this month - namely, from the “Rise” to the “Wrath of the Villains”. Similarly, now that Theo Galavan (James Frain) is dead - or, rather, dead for the time being - there is room for someone else to fill the “Big Bad” position that Theo occupied during the “Rise of the Villains” story arc....

According to Michael Douglas, Hank Pym is furious at Scott Lang for exposing his shrinking suit to the rest of the Avengers in Captain America: Civil War. Directed by Peyton Reed, Ant-Man & The Wasp will see the return of Marvel’s favorite shrinking hero, but this time, he’s joined by Hope van Dyne as The Wasp. Together, the two must stop a mysterious villain, Ghost, and attempt to save Janet van Dyne - the Pym matriarch and the original Wasp - from the Quantum Realm....

Donald Glover is a jack-of-all-trades. He first drew attention for his work with Derrick Comedy, which prompted Tina Fey to hire him as a writer for 30 Rock. He then drew further attention with his role as Troy Barnes on NBC’s Community. Since then, he has appeared in multiple films like Spider-Man: Homecoming, The Martian, and Magic Mike XXL. Glover will be voicing Simba in a remake of Disney’s The Lion King....

Dream casting happens all the time on the internet, usually after the announcement of some new incarnation of a favorite character hits the fiberoptic cable. Fans love to envision their favorite stars taking over their favorite characters, and sometimes, it even happens. X-Men die-hards always saw Patrick Stewart in the lead role of Professor X, even though he’d had little film experience and was primarily known as a TV star. That didn’t stop Bryan Singer from casting him, and Stewart has earned raves ever since....

Silver and Black director Gina Prince-Bythewood has provided a brief, but helpful, update on where the film is at in pre-production. One of multiple films based around Spider-Man anti-heroes and/or reformed villains that Sony has in the pipeline right now, Silver & Black is the only one after this fall’s Venom to be granted a release date so far. However, at this point, it’s safe to assume that Sony will eventually move the movie back from its current February 2019 theatrical launch date, seeing as Silver & Black has yet to progress past the script development stage....

Ezra Miller and Grant Gustin - from Warner Bros, The Flash movie and The Flash TV show, respectively - are the latest celebrity pair to undergo the Face Mash treatment, creating what some consider to be a near-perfect version of the DC stalwart and fan-favorite hero Barry Allen. Miller was last seen halting the destructive machinations of Steppenwolf as one of the better and more lighthearted elements of Zack Snyder/Joss Whedon’s Justice League....

Facebook has announced today that it is rolling out support for end-to-end encrypted video calls and audio calls to Facebook Messenger. The company is also planning changes for Instagram direct messages and will begin rolling out those features soon. The company says: End-to-end encryption is rolling out to a “limited test” group of adults in “certain countries” for Instagram direct messages. “Similar to how Messenger works today, you need to have an existing chat or be following each other to start an end-to-end encrypted DM,” Facebook explains....

Facebook is closing the doors on its Campus feature on March 10. Launched in September 2020, this is its latest defeat in its attempt to appeal to a younger audience. Campus is a feature within the app for college students, very much like the original site Mark Zuckerberg created. It offers students a special news feed where they can join groups, events, and chat rooms centered around campus life. The feature was originally piloted to 30 US schools and recently expanded to 60....

CCS Insight, which has most tech giants on its client list, has predicted that a folding iPhone won’t launch before 2025, and that it will cost around $2,500. It says that Apple will first launch a folding iPad, and that we can expect that device in 2024. This is broadly consistent with earlier reports by display analyst Ross Young, and Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo – with CSS saying that going iPhone first would be far too risky …...

As it turns out, after New Mutants rolls out in theaters early next year, 20th Century Fox is planning three more X-Men films in both 2019 and 2020. Since news broke that Disney was in active talks with Fox to buy their film and TV division, Marvel fans have been wondering how the two separate superhero franchises from Marvel Studios and Fox could come together. And while the deal still isn’t official, many expected that Fox will slowly decrease their Marvel output....
