For some time it almost seemed as though people were growing tired of the question – that is, until recent rumors regarding Daniel Craig and his alleged decision to turn down MGM’s offer to reprise the role reignited the dispute once more. Though subsequent news reports insist Craig hasn’t yet made a decision regarding whether or not he would stick around for more, the James Bond debate was given another dose of fuel to its fire nonetheless, as thoughts of Tom Hiddelston or Idris Elba as Bond are once again flaring up....

Julian Dennison, who played Firefist in Deadpool 2, has joined the cast of Legendary Pictures’ Godzilla vs. Kong. The shared universe concept may be on thin ice, but Legendary and Warner Bros. are still going ahead with the MonsterVerse, which started with Gareth Edwards’ Godzilla in 2014. Jordan Vogt-Roberts’ Kong: Skull Island kicked things into high gear in 2017 when it introduced Kong into the universe, while also teasing the arrival of classic monsters such as King Ghidorah, Mothra, and Rodan....

Batman has never been much of a team player, so it may not come as much of a surprise that he quits the Justice League along with several other heroes, in the first episode of Young Justice: Outsiders. When the Justice League appears to no longer be able to function autonomously as it needs to combat metahuman child abduction and trafficking, Batman says a new team is needed, one outside the purview of the UN and Secretary General Lex Luthor....

Stop us if you’ve heard this one before: “I like Marvel’s movies, but they have a serious villain problem.” Yes, the MCU has been accused of giving all its characterization to the heroes, leaving little room for recurring villains and truly menacing nemeses. Meanwhile, films like The Dark Knight and Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man were lauded for their complex and compelling villains. In The Dark Knight’s case, it was arguably at the expense of the hero’s own character development, but the fact that the MCU lacks any villains on par with Heath Ledger’s Joker or Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin (or Alfred Molina’s Doc Ock) is often considered to be a major weakness in Marvel’s slate....

Final Fantasy XIV Shadowbringers surprised many with the fact that players need to know how to beat Titania to progress through the Main Scenario Quest, despite the fact that it’s in the middle of the expansion and arrives without much fanfare. Part of the reason many are referring to Shadowbringers as one of the best MMORPG expansions of all time is precisely for this reason, though - even when other entries in the genre bombard players with fetch quests to progress through the middle of the story, Final Fantasy XIV instead offers up what could genuinely be the toughest fight of the expansion....

When Keiynan Lonsdale was first cast as Wally West on The Flash, there was a rather negative and racist response, which emotionally hurt the actor. Lonsdale, who has since moved from The Flash to Legends of Tomorrow, was added to The Flash in season 2. Although typically Wally West is the nephew of Iris West in the comics, the show made the decision to make Wally Iris’ long-lost brother and the change prompted some rather nasty responses....

Marti Noxon, showrunner of Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s sixth season, has admitted she regrets the controversial decision to kill off Willow’s lover, Tara. Looking back on the show’s legacy, she’s admitted that she feels that particular decision was “a little rickety.” In her view, it bordered on the “sadistic.” Season 6 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer was easily the most controversial. Marti Noxon had been involved with the show for a long time, but she was promoted to the showrunner job for season 6, with series creator Joss Whedon taking a step back....

A plethora of leaks over the past few days have soured a few surprises, including the new Xbox One slim console and the 4K compatible Project Scorpio, as the trend didn’t slow down with a leaked screen-cap of the now released Halo Wars 2 trailer popping up online yesterday. With Halo 5: Guardians launching a few months ago, Microsoft seems intent on delivering more experiences from the legendary franchise with 2017’s Halo Wars 2 from Total War developer Creative Assembly....

After three live-stream listening parties of Donda on Apple Music and Kanye West breaking multiple live-stream records on the platform, the artist now broke the 2021 Apple Music record with 60 million first-day US streams. As reported by Billboard, the 10th studio album from Kanye West, Donda, pulled in over 60 million streams in the US during its first 24 hours on Apple Music after its release Sunday. According to the magazine, West also became Apple Music’s most-streamed artist and took 19 of the top 20 spots on the streaming service’s Daily Top 100 Global songs chart....

On the latest edition of the Power On newsletter, Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman talks a lot about new Macs, new chips, and when to expect them. But there’s a Mac people shouldn’t put their expectations on, as it looks Apple is not developing a low-end larger iMac. Gurman believes if Apple goes pro-only for the larger iMac – the rumored iMac Pro – it will be using the display size as another “Pro” differentiation from the low-end model, which means the company isn’t planning for an entry-level iMac that could be bought as a 24-inch and 27-inch options, for example....

I reviewed Duolingo last month and said then that the signs were encouraging, but the real test would come when I visited Buenos Aires. I’d been impressed overall, but did have one concern … I know many people who have succeeded with it, and I was surprised by how well I progressed.
