A prequel to the upcoming video game Star Wars: Battlefront II, set to hit stores November 17, 2017, Battlefront II: Inferno Squad by Christie Golden will take place after the events of Rouge One and A New Hope following the Empire’s response to the destruction of the Death Star. The novel will focus on the members of Inferno Squad as they hunt down the rebel faction led by the legendary Saw Gerrera....

A Nightmare On Elm Street star Robert Englund hasn’t completely ruled out a return as Freddy Krueger. Freddy was the creation of writer/director Wes Craven, with the character being a child killer who got away with his hideous crimes on a technicality, leading to vengeful parents taking their revenge by burning him alive. He returned in the dreams of their children to seek his revenge, and the character gradually morphed from the shadowy dream stalker of the original to a wisecracking comedian across various sequels....

The technology industry (Apple, Google, Microsoft) ultimately wants to get rid of passwords with passkeys. Until then, the Google Password Manager is starting to offer on-device encryption so that “only you can see your passwords.” Today, the Google Password Manager — found at passwords.google.com and inside Chrome — offers “standard password encryption” where: On-device encryption makes it so that “your passwords can only be unlocked on your device using your Google password or the screen lock for an eligible device,” like fingerprint, PIN, etc....

Doctor Who star Catherine Tate confirmed that she would be up for coming back for the show’s new seasons starring Jodie Whittaker as the thirteenth Doctor. Tate, known for her comedy work in The Catherine Tate Show and a recurring role in The Office, first appeared on Doctor Who as the fiery and indomitable Donna Noble in 2006. She later boarded the TARDIS as the tenth Doctor (David Tennant)’s regular companion in the fourth season, and exited the show, along with Tennant, in 2010....

Disney’s released a series of Dumbo character posters that offer the best look yet at the live-action remake’s human cast and elephant star alike. The way things are shaping up, 2019 is going to be Disney’s riskiest year in some time. In addition to launching their Disney Plus streaming service and finalizing their purchase of 20th Century Fox, the Mouse House plans to release no less than three live-action remakes of its classic animated features over the next twelve months....

The first reviews for Christopher Nolan’s upcoming WWII survival film Dunkirk have released, and the results are overwhelmingly positive. Nolan spent the vast majority of his career developing The Dark Knight Trilogy, which has since gone down as one of the greatest trilogies in cinema history, yet he never stopped pursuing original films, such as The Prestige, Inception, and Interstellar. However, since the start of his career, Nolan has always wanted to make a movie based on the Battle of Dunkirk....

Facebook Watch is a dedicated app for watching Facebook videos and livestreams on TVs. However, Apple TV users will no longer have access to the platform as Facebook seems to have discontinued the Facebook Watch app for tvOS. Now, when trying to access Facebook Watch on tvOS, users get a message saying that the app “is no longer available” and that the videos can be watched on Facebook’s website. Of course, since tvOS lacks a web browser, there’s no other way to watch Facebook videos on Apple TV except by using AirPlay from another device....

Marvel has confirmed that a Fantastic Four movie is in development, but when will it release? Ever since the announcement of Disney’s purchase of Fox, MCU fans have been anticipating the arrival of Marvel’s First Family, and at SDCC 2019, Kevin Feige made it official: although it’s not part of the confirmed MCU Phase 4, a Fantastic Four movie is coming. Little is known about how Marvel will take on Mister Fantastic, the Invisible Woman, the Human Torch and the Thing likely due to Fantastic Four being in the early days of development (Marvel couldn’t make any moves on Fox properties until the purchase was fully completed)....

Earlier this week, the first trailer for James Mangold’s latest film, Ford v Ferrari, was unveiled upon the world. Since the trailer’s release, the film is being hailed as an early award season contender. Directed by James Mangold, Ford v Ferrari follows a team of American designers and engineers in the mid-sixties that set out to achieve the impossible – defeat Ferrari at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in France using a Ford vehicle....

Frances McDormand has passed on playing the Joker’s mom in DC’s origin movie, but Warner Bros. remains committed to landing a big name to play the character. Reports that WB is working on a Joker origin film separate from the Justice League cinematic universe has been circulating since last summer. However, the news only became official this past week, when WB announced that Joaquin Phoenix (as rumored) will be playing the Clown Prince of Crime in the film....

Twentieth Century Fox is finally showing Channing Tatum some love by giving Gambit a Valentine’s Day 2019 release date. Tatum first joined the X-Men world a few years back and has been working to get his solo film off the ground ever since. But, the project has continued to see directors leave, only recently finding a potential guiding hand with director Gore Verbinski. The positive moves come after months of Tatum saying the project was starting over in the wake of Deadpool and Logan’s success....
