Adam McKay’s Vice is an unconventional biopic about the life and times of Dick Cheney - but does it have an after-credits scene? Back in the 2000s, McKay became famous for directing Will Ferrell comedies like Anchorman, Talladega Nights, and Step Brothers. His early films certainly had satirical elements, but it wasn’t until 2010’s The Other Guys (another Ferrell vehicle) that McKay’s projects started to become more outspoken with their political commentary....

Filler episodes are usually an arduous challenge to wade through, but Dragon Ball Z has some hidden gems to offer. It’s easy to understand why fans tend to skip anime filler episodes. Perhaps an unusual phenomenon to western audiences, filler occurs because Japanese anime generally adapts its comic source material very closely and, when the two mediums are running simultaneously, the TV version must ensure it doesn’t catch up to the manga....

EA just wrapped their open beta for Star Wars Battlefront II and the studio has released a statement in response to player feedback - namely, the uproar over loot crates and how they’re tied to gameplay and progression. Battlefront II is only one of many games that have begun including rewards as random loot drops (Overwatch, Destiny 2, and Forza Motorsport 7 are other examples) but in the case of this game, these loot crates offer big, game-changing rewards as microtransactions and that is leaving a lot of players frustrated....

Black Mirrordoesn’t really make bad episodes. Today’s Twilight Zone, as it is has been hailed, is remarkably consistent in its vision of a future filled with oddities that occasionally become nightmarish. This anthology series uses each of its thirteen existing hours to tell a distinct story. The Justice League has come to Titans, confirming even move major superheroes for the world of the DC Universe streaming show. While the show started slow, focusing on the individual Titans as they slowly came together, it also gradually built out the larger, fully formed DC universe that the Titans live in. The world started with the expected things, name-dropping Batman and the Joker, Robin sneaking around Wayne Manor with Bruce and Alfred always just out of sight....

Bethesda has shutdown the rumor that Fallout 76 will soon become free-to-play. The developer’s latest game as been embroiled in controversy since its release last November. So when a new rumor threatened to once again land Bethesda in hot water with fans, the developer swiftly responded. Fallout 76, the latest installation in the Fallout franchise had a rough launch. Players were quick to point out that the game was heavily flawed, full of glitches and, in some areas, completely unplayable....

An unexciting iPhone 14 design… These types of renders, CAD drawings, and ‘dummy’ models are commonly used by case makers to prepare their accessories for upcoming iPhone launches. They often leak from somewhere in Apple’s supply chain, and leaks become increasingly common the closer we get to the release of the new iPhone in the fall. The renders from 91Mobiles are allegedly based on leaked CAD drawings from “industry sources,” and they show an iPhone 14 Pro design that looks largely the same as the iPhone 13 Pro....

One common thread among many memorable horror movie killers is the fact that they tend to wear masks while doing their grisly work, sometimes to hide their identity, and other times simply to cover their own deformed faces. In the former category sit killers like Scream’s Ghostface, My Bloody Valentine’s Harry Warden, or Jigsaw’s various apprentices in the Saw series. The writers of the 2009 remake of Friday The 13th have revealed the working title for the unmade sequel - and it’s one hardcore fans will dig. Friday The 13th was one of many remakes of iconic slasher movies that came along in the noughties, including The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Halloween, The Hitcher and A Nightmare On Elm Street. Most of these movies were produced by Michael Bay via his production company Platinum Dunes....

Gambit gets a new production start date, indicating 20th Century Fox is still moving forward with the X-Men universe film. The studio’s X-Men series first launched in 2000, but has since grown into much larger franchise. With mainline X-Men films, a solo Wolverine trilogy, and spinoffs like Deadpool, Fox has expanded their superhero franchise a great deal. Plus, ever since Deadpool and Logan proved atypical superhero movies could be successful with critics and at the box office, Fox’s X-Men movies have diversified in tone - including going the full horror route with the upcoming New Mutants....

A new trailer has arrived for Game of Thrones from San Diego Comic-Con, teasing more of the character meet-ups to come in season 7. With last Sunday’s premiere of Game of Thrones, the final war has begun. While the episode mostly set up what will take place in the remaining six episodes this year, it finally moved things into place for the coming of the White Walkers and Daenerys’ invasion. At the end of the episode, Dany just arrived on Dragonstone, and the trailer and images for this Sunday’s episode have shown she’ll be kicking off her war soon....

The Goosebumps movie sequel, which is tentatively titled Goosebumps: Horrorland, has found a new director in Ari Sandel. Based on the iconic book series of the same name by R.L. Stine, Goosebumps starred Jack Black in a warmly received, family-friendly adventure that made a modest profit at the box office. Rather than directly adapting any of the classic Goosebumps stories, the movie saw Black take on the role of author Stine himself, with the writer’s monstrous creations coming to life and wreaking havoc in the real world....

Grant Gustin plays the title character on The CW’s The Flash, but if he wasn’t already tied down to the iconic DC Comics character, the actor says he would like to play Spider-Man. Gustin has been playing Barry Allen/The Flash since 2013, when he first appeared as the character in a season 2 episode of The CW series Arrow. Gustin’s Barry Allen later got his own show in 2014, when The Flash premiered on the same network....

Duncan Jones is going to direct a comic book movie next, it’s just unclear which one. Hollywood is only continuing to commit to the superhero movie craze. While Marvel Studios is leading the charge, several other studios are bringing comic book based content to the big screen. No one is so far rivaling the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but Warner Bros.’ DC universe, Fox’s X-Men franchise, and a variety of other smaller films are in the works too....

The first chapter of the saga between Twitter and Elon Musk has come to an end, but there’s much more to come. After first saying that he no longer had any interest in buying Twitter, Musk decided to agree to the deal after the company threatened to sue him. Now Elon Musk has officially taken over as owner and (temporary?) CEO of Twitter, and his first action there was to fire top executives from the company....

It’s an easy mistake to make on paper, but Holmes & Watson director Etan Cohen isn’t THAT Ethan Coen. There’s a famous story about the reason Bill Murray signed on to voice the main character in Garfield. Murray is known for being somewhat selective - and occasionally impulsive - when it comes to choosing projects, so when he saw Joel Cohen’s name on Garfield’s script, he decided to sign on. In this case, the star mistook Joel Cohen - writer of Evan Almighty - with Joel Coen, one half of the acclaimed Coen Brothers (Raising Arizona, No Country For Old Men)....

Ant-Man and the Wasp’s Evangeline Lilly is now a contender for the top cinematic superheroine. Lilly plays Hope van Dyne, aka the Wasp, the daughter of the original Ant-Man and Wasp. The last time we saw Black Widow in the MCU, she was sacrificing herself on Vormir to get the Soul Stone for the Avengers, but despite her death in Avengers: Endgame, she’s finally getting her own solo movie. It’s about time, since Scarlett Johansson’s portrayal of Natasha Romanoff has always been beloved among fans of the franchise. There is arguably no character in the MCU who deserves a solo movie more than Black Widow....
