Harry Potter first arrived in theaters fifteen years ago. Let that sink in a minute. A significant amount of time has passed since we last saw The Boy Who Lived. Social media became a thing, the iPhone was built, three presidential elections have passed, and now a new J.K. Rowling story is headed back to cinemas. History repeats itself, and with Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them on the horizon, we thought it time to revisit the beloved Harry Potter series and give them the definitive ranking they deserve....

Nathalie Emmanuel has confirmed that production on Fast & Furious 9 is underway. As its title implies, this will be the ninth mainline entry in the Fast & Furious franchise and the tenth overall, following August’s Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw. Vin Diesel will once again star as Domnic Toretto in the film, with Michelle Rodriguez similarly reprising her longstanding role as Dom’s girlfriend-turned wife, Letty Ortiz. Rodriguez’s involvement was only confirmed last month, after she got Universal to agree to add a female writer to the Fast & Furious 9 creative team....

Following a dark, divisive sophomore season, Mr. Robot season 3 on the horizon. The new season will see Rami Malek’s Elliot attempting to regain control of his life after being manipulated by both internal and external forces in ways he didn’t fully understand. The story of a mentally unstable cybersecurity hacker, Elliot Alderson, who spends his free time plotting the downfall of the corporate world, Mr. Robot’s initial season broke new ground for cable network USA....

The Game of Thrones television series has diverged from George R. R. Martin’s beloved books many times, but the creators have always relied on his text as the main source material and roadmap for their HBO adaptation. Now, the hit show will continue to barrel on into the unknown and unwritten future of Westeros with no training wheels and no author overlord to turn to for guidance. The inevitable question that arises is, as only Martin knows how the story is meant to end (and will end when he publishes the final books), what if the eager producers kill off the heir to the Iron Throne?...

Get Out is far and away the most profitable movie among the nine Best Picture 2018 Oscar nominees. It’s been quite eventful year for Get Out, writer/director Jordan Peele’s horror thriller that layers in commentary about race relations in America. On top of the film’s stellar take of $176 million take domestically and nearly $79 million more overseas for a global cume of $255 million, Get Out not only earned critical acclaim with a 100 percent “fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes out of the gate (it has since dropped to 99 percent), it’s been one of the most high-profile films during awards season, earning multiple nominations and trophies from industry and critics’ groups....

Christopher Eccleston has come out in support of Jodie Whittaker’s casting in Doctor Who. Eccleston, of course, helped re-launch the BBC’s flagship sci-fi series back in 2005, bringing a cheeky northern charm to the eponymous Time Lord. Whittaker – the first woman to land the part - will step into the role at the end of 2017’s Christmas special, which is going by the title “Twice Upon a Time”. There’s no “clucking” around on HBO’s Game of Thrones, and it turns out that the show used the anatomy of a chicken to design Daenerys Targaryen’s dragons. With dragons clearly being mythical creatures, it was always going to be a challenge to base them on any real-life animal from the pages of history. Unable to decide what kind of winged creature should influence those scaly fire-breathers, it seems that everyone involved with Game of Thrones eventually settled on a chicken....

Game of Thrones actor Kristian Nairn, who played the doomed Hodor on the HBO fantasy series, says he didn’t like that notorious Ed Sheeran cameo either. Over the years, Game of Thrones has had occasion to invite numerous musicians to appear on the show in cameos, almost always playing musicians. Many of these cameos have been completely unobtrusive and have passed by most fans unnoticed. The majority of viewers didn’t bat an eyelash when Icelandic gloom-and-doomers Sigur Ros showed up as musicians to play “The Rains of Castamere” at Joffrey’s wedding and got food thrown at them....

Game of Thrones isn’t considered one of the greatest TV shows ever made, but it could have been had the series run for longer. The final two years of the HBO behemoth bore witness to a downturn in quality (at least in the eyes of critics and fans), with problems that could’ve been solved by drawing the story out more. The issues were most prevalent in the recent eighth and final season, where the negativity around Game of Thrones truly took hold....
