Greta Gerwig may direct a Little Women movie adaptation that features multiple Oscar winners and Oscar nominees alike. Gerwig made her solo directorial debut on last year’s Best Picture nominated coming of age dramedy Lady Bird, after years of collaborating as a writer/actor with Noah Baumbach on acclaimed indie films like Frances Ha and Mistress America. Sony originally recruited Gerwig to rewrite its developing Little Women film, but it seems the talented storyteller is on the verge of formally committing to helm the project too....

Apple Pay Later was announced during the WWDC 2022 keynote. It will be a way to let customers pay in installments simply by choosing the option in the Wallet app when they make payments. Originally rumored to be introduced this year, it seems this service could be delayed to Spring 2023 with iOS 16.4. According to Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman in his Power On newsletter, there’s a strong reason why Apple Pay Later will be delayed until the end of the iOS 16 cycle....

Like most films during pre-production, David Gordon Green’s Halloween went through various script treatments, and at one point followed the continuity of the previous sequels. Forty years after the original Halloween film by John Carpenter and nine after Rob Zombie’s Halloween II, Michael Myers and Laurie Strode are back with a new story that aims to rewrite what audiences have come to know so far about these characters. For that, the creative team behind this film decided to ignore all sequels and remakes – so, essentially, this one would be Halloween II....

The first five soundtracks of the Halloween franchise are getting special vinyl releases to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the original. John Carpenter is a rare artist, having created a classic story and composed a classic score in a single movie, which he achieved to magical and influential effect with 1978’s Halloween. David Gordon Green (Stronger) helmed the newest Halloween, due out this October, with a chance to carry on Carpenter’s legacy in a direct sequel to the first film....

Robert Downey Jr. teases his fun scenes with Benedict Cumberbatch in Avengers: Infinity War. Playing Tony Stark/Iron Man and Stephen Strange/Doctor Strange respectively, RDJ and Cumberbatch are only two of the many, many actors that are slated to appear in the upcoming Marvel Studios epic as the MCU gears up to fight their most dangerous threat yet: Thanos. The tandem between the two aforementioned characters is one of the most-anticipated in Infinity War....

John Cena gave some details about his planned Duke Nukem film adaptation in a recent interview with Screen Rant. Born out to a different time (the early 1990s), the Duke Nukem franchise spawned nine video games and a comic book series over a 20-year period. For nearly twenty years however, one thing that the franchise has not been able to accomplish is to have a film pushed past the earliest stages of development....

It’s a great time to be a Harry Potter fan, what with a sequel stage play just around the corner, ongoing short stories penned by author J.K. Legendary comic creator Frank Miller has signed a five-project deal with DC Comics. The deal will include Miller’s previously announced authoring of a new Superman: Year One book with artist John Romita Jr. to kick off DC Comics’ new Black Label line devoted to superhero stories set outside of the main continuity of DC Comics’ Multiverse. Miller is one of a rare few comic creators to find mainstream success and fame outside of the comic book industry....

The Emmy-winning Frasier has reportedly jumped into the endless stream of sitcom revivals, reboots (and spinoffs of abruptly canceled revivals), as star Kelsey Grammer and CBS TV Studios are exploring the idea of rebooting the series. The recent trend of bringing popular sitcoms back for another go-round has not abated, even in the wake of the Roseanne controversy and, in a less scandalous way, the news that the proposed Mad About You revival is now in question due to some complications behind the scenes in getting a deal done....

Alcon Entertainment has recruited animation veteran Mark Dindal to direct an animated film adaptation of the long-running Garfield comic strip. The project has been in the works since 2016 and is currently based on a script by writing duo Paul A. Kaplan and Mark Torgove (Raising Hope, Dr. Ken). The Garfield comic strip was created by Jim Davis back in 1978 and is still going strong today, forty years later. Of course, it helps that, during that time, the brand has expanded well beyond its newspaper roots and launched multiple cartoon TV series, video games, CGI-animated direct to video movies, and even two relatively infamous live-action/CGI hybrid films (featuring Bill Murray as the voice of the often grouchy, lasagna-loving, orange feline)....

Germany has decided to lift a long-standing ban on Nazi imagery, such as swastikas, appearing in video games. In order to release in Germany, World War II-centered video games such as Wolfenstein and Call of Duty have had to either edit out every use of a swastika or develop their entire games using something else for the Nazis’ symbol. For years, any video game that contained “symbols of unconstitutional organizations,” such as Nazi symbols, weren’t allowed to release in the country....

Two things happened at the conclusion of today’s Apple event. John Ternus teased one more Mac with Apple silicon coming (the Mac Pro) while omitting the 27-inch iMac. Then Apple removed the 27-inch iMac from its online shop without notice. Apple replaced the 21.5-inch iMac running on Intel last year with the 24-inch iMac with an M1 chip and all-new design. Apple also discontinued its iMac Pro, a 27-inch iMac variant with Xeon class Intel chips inside....

The latest rumors about the young Han Solo movie uncover possible locations and details about the plot. While fans are impatiently counting down the days until The Last Jedi opens in theaters, Lucasfilm is still in the process of trying to complete their troubled anthology film. Still set for release in May 2018, Ron Howard continues to roll the cameras as members of cast wrap their roles. When the Oscar-winning director first stepped in for the fired Phil Lord and Chris Miller, it was said production would run through September, but the calendar has turned to October and there are still scenes to shoot....
