Marvel artist Charlie Wen reveals an early piece of concept art for Guardians of the Galaxy visualizing Jason Momoa as Drax the Destroyer. The former Game of Thrones star is currently enjoying the success of his first superhero standalone flick in James Wan’s Aquaman where he plays Arthur Curry - a half-human/half-Atlantean and the rightful heir to the throne of the underwater world of Atlantis. But before he even debuted the role via a small cameo in Zack Snyder’s Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice in 2016, Momoa was up for another comic book hero, but one from Marvel....

Doom Eternal looks like it is going to deliver lots more demon-killing action, and fans are ready for it. As part of E3 2019, Bethesda also confirmed the details of its collector’s edition, which comes complete with a full-sized and wearable Doom Slayer helmet. Promising to be bigger and bolder than 2016’s Doom, the id Software-developed title is taking the action back to Earth. Doom Eternal was shown off at E3 during Bethesda’s press conference, with some extremely cool new footage and the reveal of a new multiplayer game mode....

The Financial Times is reporting that Apple is set to come under fire on fresh anticompetitive charges from the European Union, which will likely be formally announced next week. Apple will face the complaint that it unfairly monopolizes the mobile payments system on the iPhone, by promoting Apple Pay and restricting other services from having the same access to the iPhone’s NFC hardware. News of a forthcoming complaint surrounding access to NFC hardware in the iPhone, as it pertains to mobile payments systems, surfaced back in October....

Facebook Messenger announced it’s testing end-to-end encrypted backups, while also bringing more updates on end-to-end encrypted messages and calls. Here’s what’s changing with the app. Facebook Messenger is now testing secure storage to back up messages in case people lose their phones or want to restore their message history on a new, supported device. The company’s product manager director, Sara Su, writes: She says secure storage will be the default way “to protect the history of your end-to-end decrypted conversations on Messenger, and you’ll have multiple options for restoring your messages if you choose to do so....

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom director J.A. Bayona has confirmed the dinosaur seen in the movie’s most emotional scene comes from the first movie. Bayona took over the director’s chair on Fallen Kingdom from Colin Trevorrow, and the story finds the heroes of the previous adventure trying to rescue the dinosaurs on Isla Nublar from an imminent volcano eruption. After they barely escape the island, they come to realize the motives behind the people financing the dinosaur rescue are less than honorable....

Fortnite maker Epic Games wants all games to have cross-platform options available to them. Earlier this year, Sony opened up a cross-play beta that allowed PlayStation 4 users to play Fortnite with gamers on other platforms, like PC, mobile, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Now, Epic has even bigger ideas that they’d like to see come into fruition. Cross-platform play is exactly what it sounds like. It enables a game’s players to play with one another regardless of what platform(s) they choose to play said game on....

FX’s Emmy-winning comedy gem Baskets will end its run with the upcoming season 4 finale. The comedy starring Zach Galifianakis as aspiring clown Chip Baskets premiered on the cable network in 2016, earning praise for its droll sense of humor, Galifianakis’s dual role (he also plays his character’s twin brother Dale), and the performance of comedian Louie Anderson as Christine Baskets. The series also features a terrific performance by Martha Kelly, whose seemingly shy, laconic persona is put to great use against the two larger-than-life characters....

Looking to play games on your newly updated Mac? You might have to skip bringing your game controllers. Shortly after its ‘Peek Performance’ event, Apple released macOS Monterey version 12.3. After updating, many users across Apple’s Developer Forums and Reddit are complaining that the update can’t support their game controllers. The problem is with any game controller – Xbox, PlayStation, and third-party ones are having issues. The devices aren’t functioning properly over Bluetooth....

1995’s Ghost in the Shell has proven to be one of the most influential films in modern cinematic history, and not just in the realm of anime. A series of leaked audition tapes for DC Universe’s upcoming Doom Patrol series suggest a more mature take on the classic comic series than was previously expected. The fact that the audition tapes show three different actors reading for the role of Victor “Cyborg” Stone also suggests that the plans may be changing regarding the upcoming films making up DC Films’ cinematic universe. First appearing in My Greatest Adventure #80 in June 1963, the Doom Patrol were billed as “The World’s Strangest Heroes” and formed from a group of misfits whose superpowers were more of a curse than a blessing....

It’s been four years since the last James Bond movie, Spectre, was released. In that time, the studio has had a tough time getting a script together for the next one, with directors dropping in and out and the story’s direction constantly changing. But the producers are determined to get it off the ground. Love her, hate her, or even love to hate her, you certainly have to be impressed by her. Cersei Lannister has not only survived six seasons of Game of Thrones, but has done it while staying in power for almost the entire time (however tenuous that power may be by now). She has been Queen as the wife of Robert Baratheon, Queen Mother to King Joffrey and to King Tommen, and now she sits on the throne with her enemies dead at her feet....
