Vera Farmiga has revealed some tantalizing details about her character in the upcoming Monsterverse sequel Godzilla: King of the Monsters. According to the actress, she may be able to form a special link with the city-smashing creatures and therefore possibly play a crucial part in the fate of the planet. For all the criticisms that have been directed at Warner Bros. and its DC Extended Universe, the studio’s superhero films are not without a number of standout performances. Hailee Steinfeld, one of the stars of the upcoming Transformers spinoff film Bumblebee, has revealed the first look at her character, Charlie Watson. Paramount’s prized cash cow is in a state of flux right now, after the disappointing critical and commercial (for this franchise’s standards) showings of this summer’s Transformers: The Last Knight. The property’s writers room, which was led by Oscar winner Akiva Goldsman, was recently disbanded as the studio tries to figure out a new game plan for the future....

Testing finally began earlier this month, and Twitter has now shared a few more details. We already knew that there would be a 30-minute time limit between tweeting and editing the tweet, and that an edit history would be available to highlight any abuse of the feature …...

Ewan McGregor will gladly sign up for a Christopher Robin sequel, the actor himself says. Directed by Marc Forster, McGregor played the role of the titular character of the Disney project, alongside Hayley Atwell who played his wife, Evelyn Robin. Meanwhile, Jim Cummings led the cast of voice actor by bringing Winnie the Pooh to life. The live-action film, which mined inspiration from A. A. Milne and E. H. Shepard’s book Winnie-the-Pooh, racked over $90 million at the global box office....

F is for Family’s Justin Long says season 4 of the Netflix series is on the way. Based on the life and comedy of Bill Burr, Netflix’s F is for Family is one of the streaming giant’s funniest and most heartfelt programs. An animated sitcom set in a 1970s Americana stripped of any pretense of nostalgia or family-friendliness, the show features a glowing mix of raunchy humor, family drama, and excellent acting from leads Burr, Laura Dern, Justin Long, and Debi Derryberry....

In another attempt to circumvent the App Store commission for in-app purchases, Facebook on Tuesday launched a new website to let users buy virtual items called “Stars” to support creators during livestreams. As reported by TechCrunch, Facebook Stars are usually purchased through in-app purchases on iOS and Android, but now the company will redirect users to buy Stars through its new webpage. This way, Facebook won’t have to pay the 30% fee to Apple and Google....

Peter Parker (Tom Holland) is planning to tell MJ (Zendaya) how he really feels about her in a new Spider-Man: Far From Home TV spot. Marvel Studios will follow up Avengers: Endgame with the friendly neighborhood hero’s second standalone adventure. In collaboration with Sony Pictures, Spider-Man: Homecoming director Jon Watts returns to helm the sequel that will deal with the aftermath of Thanos’ initial triumph and then ultimate defeat. Far From Home will be the final film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase 3, and will see Peter on a trip across the pond with his schoolmates....

Let’s be honest, one of the best elements of any game in the Final Fantasy series is the selection of summons available. Leveling opponents with weapons and spells is certainly fun, but little in the franchise is more satisfying than commanding a gargantuan mythical beast to unleash a ridiculously overblown attack upon your poor, unsuspecting enemy. Final Fantasy VIII tweaked the summon formula somewhat by re-branding them as Guardian Forces (GFs for short) and each creature, once obtained, could be “junctioned” to individual characters which resulted in new abilities and stat boosts in addition to the summoning attack itself....

Lucasfilm is reportedly putting future installments of the Star Wars Story spinoff line on hold. When Disney acquired the studio, it was revealed that in addition to a sequel trilogy in the Skywalker saga, there would also be standalone anthology films that further fleshed out the universe and told narratives the mainline movies couldn’t get into. The first of these, 2016’s Rogue One, was a tremendous success, receiving widely positive reviews and grossing over $1 billion at the worldwide box office....

In another edition of his ‘Power On’ newsletter, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman talks about what he expects Apple will unveil with iPhone 13 in a couple of months from now. While Bloomberg reported last week that Apple has tasked suppliers with building up to 90 million new iPhones for this fall, which is a 20% increase over the 75 million units planned but the company for the iPhone 12 in 2020, this time, Gurman reiterates some of the features we expect from the iPhone 13 line....

Apple’s three new HomePod mini colors officially went on-sale today at Apple stores and we’ve got our hands on all of them. The new HomePod minis are priced at the same $99 and are now available both for delivery and in-store pick up at Apple retail stores. First off, the packaging for the new HomePod minis is exquisite. I can’t remember Apple ever shipping products in yellow, orange, or blue boxes....

Universal Pictures has changed the release date of their upcoming horror flick Happy Death Day 2U in honor of the Parkland Shooting. The sequel to Happy Death Day was original scheduled to come out February 14, for anyone looking for some scares on the most romantic day of the year. However, considering what that date now means to the community of Parkland, Florida, the film is now set to come out on February 13 instead....
