Industry experts say that a shortage of qualified staff is a growing problem, especially the highly qualified engineers needed to design new chips and solve manufacturing problems for ever more complex ones … Multiple sources cited by the WSJ point to a growing gap between supply and demand....

Showtime is finally making the long-anticipated Halo TV series a reality, but what could be the show’s plot? There have been plans to adapt the popular video-games into a live-action format for over a decade. As far back as 2005, Columbia Pictures signed up to a film adaptation, with Peter Jackson as executive producer and Neil Blomkamp as director. Unfortunately, the film entered Development Hell, and by 2007 Blomkamp was declaring the project dead....

TLC’s Dr. Pimple Popper is back with star dermatologist Dr. Sandra Lee for another explosive new season. The skincare professional promises there will be some amazing (and maybe even unsettling) pops. Dr. Lee starting posting videos on social media and her YouTube channel, Dr. Pimple Popper, in she would extract cysts, blackheads, and even huge lipomas. When she noticed an uptick in likes and views of her content, she discovered the growing internet subculture of “popaholics;” and after garnering millions of views online, TLC came knocking....

DuckTales was one of Disney’s most popular animated shows, running for 100 episodes (and a movie) and consistently ranking in lists as one of the greatest animated series of all time. It has remained popular to this day despite going off the air 26 years ago, and this ongoing popularity is part of the reason that Disney’s bringing it back on Disney XD. The first preview image of the new series was released on Disney’s D23 Twitter account (see the image below), giving us our first glimpse of Scrooge McDuck and the gang....

Interestingly, the original Dynasty was created as competition for Dallas on CBS. The popular series focussed on a family known as the Carringtons, and on their family business. It included lots of action. Not everyone (for example, the Colbys) was happy about the Carrington family’s burgeoning success, though. Fans of the original Dynasty might not have easily warmed up to the idea of a fresher, newer upgrade of the series. Still, there are things the reboot does better than the original....

Little by little, more companies and stores are starting to integrate Apple Pay payments into their ecosystem. This week, eBay has finally added Apple Pay integration to its desktop shopping experience. This was first spotted by Appleosophy writer David Becker, who says he was shopping when he realized that Apple Pay was also a valid payment method on eBay’s desktop website. eBay has already supported Apple Pay for quite some time on its iOS and iPadOS apps, but it had never supported Apple’s own payment system on its website....

The new feature helps electric vehicle drivers easily discover the nearest EA charging station, initiate and complete charging remotely, and view charging plan details. Electrify America charging stations are crucial for EV adoption in the United States. The charging solution operating over 650 stations with 2,700 chargers total to date. The growing world of non-Tesla electric vehicles like the Ford Mustang Mach-E and upcoming F-150 Lightning actually support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and can’t yet rely on the Supercharger network for juicing up....

Fans can’t get enough of Jason and his psychotic ways, his insane mother and, later down the road, a resurrected Jason. The horror film franchise shows no signs of slowing down. There are talks of even more Jason-focused films being released in the future....

After some behind-the-scenes shakeups and cast departures, American Gods season 2 is set to premiere on Starz in March, and the network aims to whet its audience’s appetite with the new season’s opening scene. The adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s best-selling novel is heading into a new season without the guidance of co-showrunners Bryan Fuller and Michael Green, and it will have to do without the presence of Gillian Anderson as the god Media, too....

The former developers co-founded a small studio, and this upcoming online game marks the team’s first major game announcement. The online card game market continues to become more and more saturated after Blizzard’s Hearthstone proved that it was a lucrative genre when done correctly. The success of Blizzard’s game even led Wizards of the Coast, the owner of the most popular physical trading card game on the planet in Magic: The Gathering, to take a second run at an online client more aligned with the aesthetics and casual feel of Hearthstone....

Friends is an important piece of pop culture history. The sitcom ran for 10 seasons spanning a decade, and featured an ensemble cast of six friends – Rachel Green (Jennifer Aniston), Monica Geller (Courteney Cox), Phoebe Buffay (Lisa Kudrow), Joey Tribbiani (Matt LeBlanc), Chandler Bing (Matthew Perry), and Ross Geller (David Schwimmer), living in New York and navigating life as young singles. Last week, Sony debuted the trailer for Paul Feig’s reboot of Ghostbusters to a mixed response. One fan went so far as to edit the trailer to remove all the jokes, and instead focus on the action scenes. Feig chose to stay silent on the matter, perhaps assuming nothing he said would make a difference to those who already made up their minds about his film. That is until the director caught wind of attacks being levied against members of his cast, particularly Leslie Jones....

Back in June, we reported that Google was working on a new Wi-Fi 6 router, and it has now leaked as the “Nest Wifi Pro.” This device hit the FCC just over a month ago, and B&H has now listed it as the “Google Nest Wifi Pro 6E Router.” The name is presumably just “Google Nest Wifi Pro,” with the product page confirming the use of Wi-Fi 6E, which is the latest available connectivity standard that maxes out at 9....

Goosebumps franchise author/creator R.L. Stine has officially confirmed that filming has finally started on the sequel to the popular 2015 Goosebumps film - which has undergone yet another change in title. Previously reported as being subtitled Horrorland and then Slappy’s Revenge, Stine has now revealed that the latest (final?) title for Goosebumps 2 is Slappy Halloween. The first film was released in October 2015, and starred Jack Black as a fictionalised version of Stine who saw his literary creations overrun a small town....

Ask any Grey’s Anatomy fan which former character they would like to be brought back to the show to bring their storyline closure, and the answer will be almost hundred-percent in favor of Izzie Stevens. The character will be gone from TV for 9 years by 2019, yet here we are still talking about her. Of all the characters on the show, Izzie had the most incomplete exit. She suddenly went up and away into the distance, never to be heard from again....

When Apple first announced its plans to transition from Intel to Apple Silicon at WWDC 2020, the company said it would take around two years to fully complete the transition. Now, a new report from Bloomberg details the Apple Silicon roadmap and what to expect over the next 12 months. In the latest edition of his Power On newsletter, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman explains that he believes Apple will “barely hit its two-year timeline” for transitioning the Mac lineup fully to Apple Silicon....
