Christopher Nolan has emerged in the last decade as one of the most important and closely watched active film directors. With his Dark Knight trilogy, Inception, and Interstellar – and even his early work like Memento and The Prestige – Nolan has shown himself an exceptional artist, capable of connecting with all sorts of audiences. Nolan’s next film is Dunkirk, a World War II drama focused on the evacuation of the French city of Dunkirk in May of 1940, following the Nazi invasion of France in the early stages of the war....

Jumanji will be yet another hotly anticipated starring vehicle for Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who has worked his way to becoming Hollywood’s highest-paid actor. The upcoming continuation of the original 1981 children’s book and 1995 movie starring the late Robin Williams will transform the board game into a video game, which transports its players into the world of characters that are the opposite of what they’re used to in real life....

In modern gaming there are only a few series that help to define a console and encourage platform loyalty amongst gamers. Fable was one such franchise for the Xbox. The last major release in the series was Fable Anniversary for the Xbox 360 in 2014, and that was a remake. Since then, fans have been waiting a long time for the next substantial installment, but disappointing news regarding the upcoming Fable Legends suggests replaying the old games will be the only option left to gamers....

Sony is reportedly eying Tiffany Haddish to star in their female-led reboot of the Jump Street movie series. The studio is also on the lookout for Haddish’s costar in the film and (apparently) hopes to land rapper-turned actor Awkwafina for the role. The dramatic 1980s TV series 21 Jump Street got a comedic makeover in 2012 with the movie of the same name. Starring Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill as two buddy cops who go undercover as high schoolers, the 21 Jump Street movie was a critical and commercial success that went on to earn a sequel (cheekily titled 22 Jump Street), two years later....

Director of upcoming X-Men spinoff film New Mutants, Josh Boone, announces the first teaser trailer for the movie will arrive tomorrow. Twentieth Century Fox’s X-Men franchise has been around in some form or another since Bryan Singer’s initial movie debuted in 2000. Since then, the franchise has completed two central trilogies - the original, then the prequels that rewrote the timeline - and has most recently begun to introduce spinoffs from the main series that have found a great deal of success....

Hot on the heels of the recent World Cup, Fortnite Season 10 has been highly-anticipated by fans and the new trailer appears to suggest that it’s full steam ahead on the nostalgia train; Dusty Depot is making a reappearance thanks to some handy timey-wimey shenanigans, and it might not be the only relic of seasons past to be revitalized. Season 9 of the popular Battle Royale game ended on a spectacular mech versus kaiju fight which set the stage for maps to come for the future season....

Hulu is creating an television series based on the 1994 romantic comedy Four Weddings and a Funeral. The film, which was penned by Richard Curtis and directed by Mike Newell, is one of the most beloved romcoms of its era, propelling Hugh Grant to stardom and allowing the Blackadder co-creator to cement his position as one of the chief romantic writers for the big screen. Now, the movie is going to act as inspiration for something a little different....

Being cast one of the most well-known superheroes of all time is a feat all its own, but oftentimes the point isn’t driven home until an actor suits up for the first time. Wonder Woman, Batman, and Superman all received costume upgrades ahead of their debut in the new shared DCEU. Fan reception varies wildly as new super suits are revealed based on whether or not they are lifted directly from the pages of comics or have been given upgrades based on context or new technology....

Gotham fan Rick Celis has given the show’s ensemble an animated twist by rendering the characters into the style of Batman: The Animated Series. With Gotham’s fourth season due out later this year, fans are eagerly looking forward to the continued adventures of Jim Gordon and co., especially since David Mazouz’s Bruce Wayne has finally begun his path to being the Caped Crusader in earnest and the threat of Ra’s al Ghul looms menacingly in the background....

It was good and bad news for Bill Potts fans at San Diego Comic Con as Pearl Mackie confirmed her departure from Doctor Who. The British actress revealed to Hall H that she would be back for the Christmas Special but that would be her last appearance as the Timelord’s companion, though “never say never” to her returning. Pearl shared her decision to leave after the teaser trailer for the festive episode - titled “Twice Upon A Time” - was presented to the audience by herself, outgoing Doctor Peter Capaldi, Matt Lucas, Michelle Gomez and outgoing showrunner Steven Moffatt....

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson may have just broken the video game movie curse with Rampage, but does he add a post-credits scene to the mix to tease a likely sequel? Rampage is the latest of a recent glut of video game movies - already this year we’ve had Tomb Raider and the VR-inspired Ready Player One (incidentally, all three have been released by Warner Bros.) - and going by the box office projections is set to be the biggest of the lot....

With production already underway on Paramount’s Dora the Explorer, another new cast member was added with Eva Longoria signing on to play Dora’s mother. Isabela Moner signed on to play the title character earlier this year, with fans getting their first look at the live-action Dora earlier this month when production began. With the casting of Longoria as Dora’s mom, the casting of her father may be just around the corner as well....

The Dougherty County School System in southwest Georgia has announced a new initiative in the classroom using Apple’s M1 MacBook Air, iPad, and Logitech Crayon. The initiative aims to put DCCS on the leading edge of technology by equipping all students, teachers, and support staff with Apple products, Apple services, and instructional supports. As part of this program, DCCS will also launch DoCo Codes, an initiative designed to prepare students for the careers of tomorrow through the use of advanced technology....

Appearing on last night’s The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, Chris Hemsworth debuted video of himself as Fat Thor hilariously playing Johnny Cash’s “Hurt” on the set of Avengers: Endgame. Among the many shocking developments in the blockbuster Endgame, perhaps none was more stunning than the revelation of the previously ripped Thor’s new, obese physique. Following the tragedy of the snap, and the devastation of Earth that resulted from the disappearance of half the population, it seems Thor simply couldn’t hold it together and elected to deal with his sorrow by ceasing his grooming routine and eating everything in sight....

Electronic Arts (EA) officially closed Visceral Games - formerly known as EA Redwood Shores - and is currently in the midst of reworking the studio’s untitled Star Wars game with EA Vancouver taking lead and getting support from other EA-owned development houses. The sudden decision to shutter the former Dead Space developer was met with confusion and criticism from consumers and industry professionals alike, especially since the publisher plans on retooling the game from what could have been an Uncharted-style action-adventure title to something expected to be akin to live service, potentially filled with microtransactions and loot boxes, along with a possible multiplayer component....

Last year we learned that Nvidia was set to move forward with its plans to acquire chip designer Arm for an estimated $40 billion. However, after the FTC investigated competition concerns around the deal this year, it has filed a lawsuit to block the acquisition. After Nvidia publicly shared it was pursuing the purchase of Arm, we saw Qualcomm and others share objections with the Federal Trade Commission and other commissions around the world....

Oscar-winning costume designer Jenny Beavan is now working on the Gambit movie for 20th Century Fox. The X-Men spinoff film seemed all but dead for much of this year, until a sudden influx of updates this month revealed that the Channing Tatum headlined comic book movie is alive and well. In the span of but two weeks, Gambit both locked down a new director in the form of Gore Verbinski and secured an official 2019 theatrical release date from Fox....

The new trailer for Will Smith’s Gemini Man (seriously) features a song by Jaden Smith. Directed by Academy Award winner Ang Lee, Gemini Man stars the elder Smith as Henry Brogen, an aging assassin who finds himself hunted by a younger clone of himself, dubbed Junior (also played by Will Smith). Always one to push the boundaries of moviemaking technology, Lee and his team incorporated state-of-the-art visual effects to make Will Smith appear younger so he could portray both characters....

The new featurette for Gemini Man explores the groundbreaking visual effects used to create a young Will Smith in Ang Lee’s upcoming sci-fi film. Over the course of his long and decorated career, Lee has never been afraid to explore a different genre, nor push the art of filmmaking in new and exciting directions. Not all of his experiments have been a success of course (see Hulk, Bill Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk), but even his “misfires” are quite fascinating and, in some ways, more interesting than other directors’ less ambitious hits....
