Tragic news today from New York after a firefighter died while battling a blaze that broke out on the set of Edward Norton’s film, Motherless Brooklyn, based on a Jonathan Lethem novel. The movie, starring and directed by Norton and also featuring Bruce Willis, Willem Dafoe and Alec Baldwin, had been using an building in Harlem as one of the sets for the film. Reports have surfaced that the fire began in the basement of the occupied building late Thursday night....

A Fitbit Ionic smartwatch recall has been announced today after multiple reports of the device overheating and causing burn injuries to owners… “Customer safety is always Fitbit’s top priority and out of an abundance of caution, we are conducting a voluntary recall of Fitbit Ionic smartwatches. We received a very limited number of injury reports – the totals in the CPSC announcement represent less than 0.01% of units sold – of the battery in Fitbit Ionic smartwatches overheating, posing a burn hazard....

The folks at Funn Media are out with a new iPhone and Apple Watch app today that gives you a new way to view and analyze health and fitness data. Dubbed FitnessView, the app takes data from from your Apple Watch and the Apple Health app and makes it easy to drill down into more detail about that data, including trends, goals, heart rate graphs, and much more. FitnessView comes from the developers behind other popular iPhone and Apple Watch apps including WaterMinder, Calory, and HabitMinder....

Twentieth Century Fox did not pull X-Men: Dark Phoenix from the studio’s site, or the X-Men Movie Universe release schedule. Fox’s X-Men movie universe has been somewhat in a state of flux in recent months. Originally, three X-Men movies were set to release in 2018 - New Mutants, Deadpool 2 and Dark Phoenix. However, the release dates for Dark Phoenix and New Mutants were pushed to 2019, with reports indicating each would undergo reshoots....

I am officially moved out of my house into temporary living quarters while our new house is finished up. My Home app is in chaos as almost everything is offline. I am slowly getting a few essential HomeKit items back up and running in our temporary spot. However, one of the items I sold with the house was my beloved eufyCam Pro. As I wrote a few weeks ago, I am switching to the Nest Cam with Floodlight for the new house due to a continuous recording option....

John Cena and Kat Dennings are set to make for one unique animated pairing in YouTube Red’s upcoming series Dallas & Robo. Since the successful launch of Cobra Kai, YouTube’s premium streaming service has been busy getting more original content set for subscribers. In the coming weeks, the service will premiere Impulse, a Jumper spinoff series of sorts from director Doug Liman, but it will also wade into the waters of adult-oriented animation with a wacky series about a space trucker and her hulking robotic friend....

The arrival of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them has finally brought the wizarding world of J.K. Rowling back to theaters. After it’s first weekend in cinemas, the Eddie Redmayne-led prequel to the Harry Potter series has taken in more than enough to keep it at the top of the box office – though its $75 million opening is at the bottom end of Warner Bros.’ initial predictions. Nonetheless, fan and critical reactions to the film have been overall positive....

Caution: Spoilers ahead for Fear The Walking Dead - A new poster for the second part of Fear The Walking Dead’s fourth season has arrived and the future continues to look bleak for (ex?) lead protagonist, Madison Clark. FTWD shook its formula up massively in its most recent run, introducing a host of new main characters and drafting in Morgan Jones, the stick-wielding on-off pacifist from The Walking Dead. Shockingly, FTWD also killed off one of its main characters in the form of Nick Clark, who was shot by a child at point-blank range and left to die in front of both his friends and family and the viewing audience....

Samuel L. Jackson, Jessie T. Usher and Richard Roundtree are looking suave in the first image from Son of Shaft. Excitement has been brewing over the Shaft reboot, which has turned into a multi-generational project starring Roundtree, who originated the role of Detective John Shaft in Shaft in 1971; Jackson, who played his nephew (also named John Shaft) in the 2000 reboot; and Independence Day: Resurgence star Usher, who is playing Jackson’s son, John Shaft Jr....

As the Justice League movie kicks off its promotional tour with a stop in Beijing, star Gal Gadot has confirmed that Wonder Woman’s character trajectory was altered in the aftermath of her cinematic debut in Batman v Superman. As a refresher: during Superman’s funeral scene in the latter film, Diana has a conversation with Bruce Wayne in which she reveals, “100 years ago, I walked away from mankind.” This line was clearly intended to explain where she’d been in the last century, since the character’s then-upcoming solo film was set to take place way back in WWI....

Although Jon Snow was a favorite to sit on the Iron Throne at the end of Game of Thrones due to his secret Targaryen heritage, his true bloodline actually foretold a different outcome. In the Game of Thrones series finale, the Iron Throne was melted and in its place a new government overseen by King Bran the Broken. Jon’s was introduced as the bastard of Ned Stark and an unnamed woman, but his parentage was slowly revealed to be so much more important than that....

The DCEU leadership is undergoing a major shakeup after the release of Batman V Superman. Recent reports indicate longtime comic-book scribe and DC Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns will join Warner VP Jon Berg in overseeing Warner Bros. and DC’s spate of upcoming films. Of these developing films, few have as much early hype as the Ben Affleck-written and directed Batman. Since launching his lauded variation of Batman, Affleck’s solo Bat-flick is rumored to be on the fast track to production....
