The latest in Fortnite’s constantly shifting narrative is the discovery of a gigantic monster eye underneath Polar Peak, which was recently struck by a lump of volcanic rock during the end of the game’s season eight content updates. Fortnite’s season nine theme has been a little less consistent in its imagery than its predecessors, although the futuristic setting definitely lends itself well to ideas of cryogenics, which Polar Peak might now be inadvertently hosting....

Gwyneth Paltrow seems to have revealed Pepper Potts is indeed pregnant with Tony Stark’s child in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4. The relationship between the two characters has been one of the longest-running threads in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, dating back to their initial appearances in the original Iron Man 10 years ago. While Tony and Pepper apparently hit a rough patch over the past decade (as evidenced in Captain America: Civil War), they’re in a much better place now....

A new report suggests the Harley Quinn movie Birds of Prey could film as early as 2019, and may feature an all-female crew. It’s been difficult to keep up with all of the DC films that are currently in some stage of development, especially as few of them have even been confirmed by Warner Bros. themselves. But what’s clear is that Margot Robbie will return as Harley Quinn in some sort of spinoff from the Suicide Squad franchise....

Marvel Studios is one of the biggest studios in Hollywood, but they have a very intimate process when it comes to making their films. The “Marvel Family” consults when possible (i.e. how Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War teams worked together to create Wakanda), and that was no different when it came to the making of Black Panther....

For 16 seasons, Meg Griffin has been the butt of the jokes in Family Guy. Throughout that time, the teenage misfit has been farted on, hit with baseball bats, emotionally battered, jettisoned into spaced, held for ransom, and even wished out of existence. Though Meg first started out in the show as a relatively normal angsty teenager who’s occasionally embarrassed by her family, she’s become the black sheep who never can seem to catch a break....

The Fast Company website is finally back after being taken completely offline for eight days. The drastic action was in response to an attack which saw obscene and racist alerts pushed to Apple News. The hackers said that unbelievably poor password security made multiple systems easy to access … Background All that was immediately known at the time of the incident was that a highly offensive alert was sent to Apple News users who followed Fast Company....

Next week’s episode of Fear the Walking Dead will introduce new characters, and bring “a lot of comedy” to AMC’s zombie drama. The series is typically dark and light on comedic relief, which makes sense when one considers all the deaths and other hardships faced by the current cast of characters over the course of the season. The first half of Fear The Walking Dead’s fourth season featured the shocking deaths of Nick (Frank Dillane) and the show’s lead, Madison (Kim Dickens), which leaves Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey) as the sole survivor of the Clarke family, and the only remaining series regular from season 1....

The Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) concluded yesterday, but fellow streamers, and fans alike, are still reacting to Dr Disrespect getting banned after live-streaming on Twitch from a public bathroom. E3 is an annual gaming event that takes place in June, and is organized by the Entertainment Software Association. The event took place in Los Angeles, California at the Los Angeles Convention Center, although fans were also able to stream the event from home....

Tetsuya Nomura - director on the long-awaited Final Fantasy VII remake - has agreed that the game’s existence was announced too early. An exact release date has yet to be announced for the revamp, but it’s hoped that it will be released before the franchise’s 35th anniversary in 2023. Originally released in 1997, Final Fantasy VII is one of the most popular installments in the long-running RPG franchise, if not the most popular Final Fantasy game of all time....

The final trailer for the psychological horror film It Comes at Night is now online. It Comes at Night is the new offering from acclaimed writer/director Trey Edward Shults and serves as the followup to Shults’ directorial debut, Krisha from 2015. Story-wise, Shults’ second film revolves around a family that’s quietly surviving in an isolated home while the rest of the world is (seemingly) ravaged by some unnatural threat - only for trouble to find them anyway, when a young couple makes their way to the family’s refuge....

Fox has clarified there’s currently no movement on a new Alien movie or a sequel to video game Alien: Isolation. The Alien franchise will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2019, and Fox is preparing a number of projects to mark the event. They recently announced mobile title Alien: Blackout, which will continue the stressful adventures of Ripley’s daughter Amanda. Amanda was the main character in acclaimed 2014 video game Alien: Isolation, where she was stranded on a decaying space station with a nasty xenomorph....

The Simpsons is one of several intellectual properties owned by 21st Century Fox that Disney will acquire, once the recently approved deal between Disney and 21st Century Fox is final, but Fox Broadcasting Company co-CEOs Dana Walden and Gary Newman intend for the animated sitcom, soon to enter its 30th season, to stay on its original home network. The actual logistics involving the division of assets after the acquisition is completed has been a point of confusion for some following the news....

It’s been such a long and winding road for our characters in Game of Thrones. However, with only one episode left in season 7 and eight episodes left in the entire series, things are racing towards the conclusion. Some characters’ fates have already been reached, while others are harkening back to the very beginnings of their stories with the end approaching at such a rapid pace. So many moments in season 7 so far have been heavily foreshadowed; they are logical continuations or conclusions to the arcs based on what we’ve seen already....

Game of Thrones may be coming to an end with Season 8, but that doesn’t mean HBO is done with Westeros. The network has been developing plans for as many as five spinoffs, and one has been given the official greenlight to go to pilot. Written by Jane Goldman, the untitled show will delve into the deep past of the Game of Thrones world, answering some of the biggest mysteries....

Golem Gates attempts to port its PC prowess over to Nintendo Switch, but it’s yet another example of why RTS games just don’t belong on consoles. Golem Gates is exactly the type of game that can, when executed properly, turn a thirty-minute jaunt of an RTS break into a five hour marathon that leaves players wondering what happened to their day. The Real Time Strategy genre hasn’t been shown much love as of late, and is often regarded as a relic of an ancient time, when StarCraft and WarCraft dominated PC gaming sales and created the bulk of competitive gaming’s makeup....

Halloween was released in 1978, and horror movies have never been the same since. Made on a tiny budget, John Carpenter’s classic not only helped usher in the age of teen slashers, but created one of cinema’s great bogeymen - Michael Myers. An unstoppable, incomprehensible force of evil hiding underneath a pale mask, Myers lacks the charisma of Dracula, the pathos of Frankenstein’s monster or Freddy Kruger’s one-liners. He truly is, as the first movie credits him, “a Shape”: a cipher whose lack of personality makes him all the more terrifying as he stalks and slaughters teenagers around the sleepy town of Haddonfield, Illinois....

Fans of Doctor Who are in the middle of a long year, as there won’t be a new season until 2017. Unlike the last break where there were a few specials throughout the year, the only episode of Doctor Who that we’ll see in 2016 is the upcoming Christmas special. As that special draws closer, though, more details about it are starting to emerge. One of the latest involves the casting of Canadian actor Justin Chatwin in what’s sure to be a pretty unique role....

A Quiet Place is a modern take on the introspective monster movie, with deep, believable characters, intimidating creatures, and plenty of scares – of both the ‘manipulative jump scare’ and ‘genuine terror’ variety. When the tension finally ends, and the audience lets out an exasperated sigh of relief at having survived this unique horror experience, is it really over - or is there something extra hiding in A Quiet Place’s end-credits?...

Doom Eternal has made its gameplay trailer debut, and those that enjoyed the full-on shooter experience of its predecessor are going to like what they see. Indeed, the game looks like it is going to double down on the more extreme edges of 2016’s Doom, with an even more brutal and over-the-top take on the first-person shooter. The title made a big impression when it was revealed at E3 2018, ranking highly among the army of trailers that appeared during the expo....

Publisher EA dug in its heels for as long as it could manage, but it’s finally stopped selling loot boxes, in Belgium that is. Following a 2018 ruling by the Belgian Gambling Commission that officially recognized loot boxes to be a form of gambling, EA made the bold (and illegal) decision in September 2018 to leave gambling elements in the Belgian release of FIFA 19. It’s likely that this was the publisher’s way of testing to see what it could get away with, and, evidently, EA’s grand experiment has failed....
