A report this morning says that we may see in the future an e-Ink iPhone display, as a secondary screen on a folding iPhone. The most likely interpretation of a follow-up tweet is that Apple is testing a type of color e-ink display that offers crisper text, brighter displays, and richer colors than conventional technology … Background The first generations of e-ink displays were mono – black on white, or vice-versa – but color is now supported....

Edge of Tomorrow wasn’t an immediate commercial success when it was released in theaters back in 2014, but the Tom Cruise-headlined sci-fi action/thriller eventually grossed $370 million worldwide (on a $178 million budget), thanks to a strong critical reception and equally positive word of mouth from filmgoers. It was reported in 2015 that Cruise had begun discussing a potential sequel with his key collaborators on Edge of Tomorrow, but there haven’t been any major updates to report on the project since then - what with Edge of Tomorrow director Doug Liman having since moved on to other projects (after he re-teamed with Cruise for the upcoming thriller Mena), much like Cruise and his costar Emily Blunt have done too....

The eighth film in the series, Fast & Furious 8/Fast 8 has begun production - and while there won’t be any more CGI resurrections of the late Paul Walker, new cast members this time around include Scott Eastwood, Kristofer “Tormund Giantsbane” Hivju and Oscar-winner Charlize Theron, all of whom join perennials Vin Diesel, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris and the rest....

Flight of the Concords was a short-lived but much-loved HBO comedy series following the exploits of a hilariously unpopular folk music duo from New Zealand. Starring Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie as the hapless musicians along with Rhys Darby as their equally unsuccessful manager, Murray. The show is laugh out loud funny thanks to its quick, dry wit and clueless characters. It also was an inventive and entertaining musical, with the band’s ridiculous and hilarious songs becoming fantastical set pieces....

21st Century Fox has called an investor meeting on July 10. This will allow shareholders to vote on whether the company sells the bulk of its movie assets to Disney, or instead considers the rival offer from Comcast. In December last year, Disney made an unprecedented offer to purchase the bulk of 21st Century Fox’s film empire. With the future shape of Hollywood at stake, Comcast has made an unsolicited cash bid to compete for the purchase....

And being that it’s a reboot of a beloved property, Ghostbusters has already split the fanbase - with some critical of any movie that isn’t a direct continuation of the originals, while others are excited to see the franchise evolve....

The Batman prequel TV series Gotham has been renewed for a fifth and final season. The last few days have seen a number of networks announce series cancellations and renewals. While The CW had already confirmed the Arrowverse shows would continue, the future of Gotham seemed to be in doubt. The series needs only 13 episodes to reach the 100-episode milestone for syndication, meaning achieving a final pick-up would be a tremendous achievement for Warner Bros....

H1Z1 won’t release on the Xbox One anytime soon - and it’s unclear exactly when a full release will come for the PS4 version either. Daybreak Games announced this morning that their recently-released (though long-in-development) battle royale game, H1Z1, is finally coming to the PS4, even though the release was initially announced more than two years ago. It’s the game’s first console version, which is why the studio went to great lengths to make sure that it appeals to console players....

A creepy new teaser has arrived for Halloween 2018, ahead of the full trailer this Friday. While the new Halloween will technically be the 11th overall entry in the series, it will ignore every previous movie except for the 1978 original. The story is set 40 years after the first movie, with Michael Myers once again breaking out of prison to seek revenge on Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis). Laurie has been waiting decades for his return, however, and has to protect her daughter and granddaughter as Michael goes on another bloody rampage....

Atlanta star Donald Glover will finally grace the stage at 30 Rockefeller Plaza when he serves as both host and musical guest for Saturday Night Live on the May 5th edition of the venerable comedy institution. The multitalented Glover came to prominence in the much beloved NBC sitcom Community before breaking out on his own to create and star in Atlanta, the surreal, critically hailed FX series that chronicles the life of Glover’s Earnest “Earn” Marks, a man trying to navigate a complicated life in the city’s hip hop scene....

Amid concerns about the growing outbreak of the coronavirus, COVID-19, E3 2020 could potentially get canceled. The coronavirus, originally thought to have originated in China, has seen recent cases throughout Europe and in the U.S. This outbreak has already affected the gaming industry, most notably when the 2020 Game Developers Conference (GDC) was indefinitely postponed due to fears about the virus. This decision came after many of the developers who usually attend GDC decided to cancel their appearances over concerns about the outbreak....

A new fan petition is calling for John Wick star Keanu Reeves to be named Time’s Person of the Year. The first trailer for Ford v. Ferrari is officially released online. Starring Matt Damon as automotive visionary Carroll Shelby and Christian Bale as race car driver Ken Miles, the film chronicles the true story of the heated competition between Ford and Ferrari to win the 1966 Le Mans. It had been development for a number of years and was at one point envisioned as a potential vehicle (no pun) for Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt....
