Fans have gotten one final glimpse of Joaquin Phoenix in Joker, as filming on the project has reportedly wrapped. It was over a year ago that Warner Bros. announced Joker, with the film acting as an origin story for the iconic Batman villain. The film stars Phoenix as the Joker, a.k.a. Arthur Fleck, and is being directed by Todd Phillips, best known for his comedic work. The opening dates for the Rise of the Resistance attraction at Galaxy’s Edge have officially been revealed. Earlier this year, Disney Parks finally opened the long-awaited Star Wars world at their Florida and California locations. As expected, Galaxy’s Edge has been a significant draw, with several fans coming to experience the galaxy far, far away like never before. While walking through Black Spire Outpost on Batuu, people have constructed their own lightsaber, purchased exclusive merchandise, and tasted Star Wars themed food and beverage items....

Godzilla: King of the Monsters’ Monarch website may have brought the Loch Ness Monster into the MonsterVerse. Legendary/Warner Bros. shared universe based on iconic Toho creatures, the MonsterVerse is currently building towards Godzilla vs. Kong, although it could go much bigger than that. So far, three new monsters are teased to appear in Godzilla 2: Ghidorah, Rodan and Mothra. However, they’re not the only creatures out there. Indeed, while the Monarch website promoting the film puts the spotlight on the resting places for the core four, there are a dozen other classified research stations around the globe that point towards other beings from the Toho canon....

Update: Frances McDormand’s reps deny her involvement in Godzilla vs. Kong. The original story follows. Godzilla vs. Kong has added Oscar winner Frances McDormand to its growing cast. McDormand recently won the Academy Award for best actress for her performance in Martin McDonagh’s Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. The actress also lent her voice to Wes Anderson’s Isle of Dogs this year. McDormand appears in a small selection of films a year and audiences will get to see her in Godzilla vs....

With the holiday season officially getting under way, folks are more and more likely to soon start digging their favorite holiday-related films out for their yearly watch, if they haven’t already. The holiday to receive the movie treatment the most is obviously Christmas, although Thanksgiving and New Year’s do have their share of memorable representative entries, too. When it comes to Christmas movies though, there tends to be two main camps: those who prefer traditional uplifting seasonal classics like It’s a Wonderful Life, and those who instead opt to revel in less sentimental holiday blockbusters like Die Hard....

Halloween 2018 will feature Michael Myers wearing the mask he wore during his original rampage. The new Halloween is a sequel to the original only and will ignore the rest of the series. Blumhouse is producing the sequel, and are pulling out all the stops for fans. Jamie Lee Curtis returns once more as Laurie Strode, series creator John Carpenter will executive produce and compose the music, and even original Michael performer Nick Castle will return in a cameo....

With the end of Doctor Who season 11 looming for fans everywhere (the New Year’s special episode notwithstanding), the BBC surprised many by announcing the series won’t return for season 12 until 2020. So far, Jodie Whittaker and new showrunner Chris Chibnall’s take on the Doctor has yielded the long-running sci-fi series strong ratings and plenty of critical praise, but that success apparently isn’t enough for star, showrunner, or broadcaster to hastily put the show back into production for its twelfth season, leaving audiences with a TARDIS-sized hole in their viewing schedules for the coming year....

However, to genre fans, she will be forever adored as the butt-kicking superspy Sidney Bristow on the hit ABC show, Alias. Back in those days, she also co-starred in the pre-MCU Daredevil film, as the leather-clad assassin, Elektra. It had been a long time since Garner had starred in an action project, so fans were surprised and delighted when it was announced she would star in Peppermint, a vigilante thriller from Pierre Morel, the director of Taken and District B13....

Nickelodeon’s popular TV series Double Dare is returning to the small screen after 18 years. The network has ordered a 40-episode series revival, bringing back the slime-heavy game show centered around young contestants. Premiering in 1986 and ranking as #29 on TV Guide’s “60 Greatest Game Shows of All Time,” Double Dare was a massively popular game show for kids that included everything from physical stunts to trivia - and, of course, Nickelodeon’s trademark green slime....

Apple doesn’t care about the fact that it is regularly being fined €5M ($5.7M) by Dutch antitrust regulators, and would rather pay the fines than comply with the law, it is claimed. The accusation was leveled by the European Union’s competition regulator Margrethe Vestager, after Apple was fined for the fifth time … Background Apple is facing antitrust pressure both home and abroad in respect to its monopoly on the sale of iOS apps....

After the EU passed the Digital Markets Act this past summer, the new legislation has officially gone into effect at the start of November. While we’ve previously heard of the potential consequences, an EU official has reiterated that we could see Apple forced to open up iPhone to third-party app stores and more. The new comments from veteran EU official Gerard de Graaf (via Wired) come just after the European Parliament’s Council of Ministers ratified the vote that will mandate iPhone moves to USB-C before long....

And fans know Hayley Atwell as Agent Peggy Carter from the Captain America films and the Agent Carter television series. Now, they play husband and wife in Disney’s newest film Christopher Robin. Christopher Robin is an adaptation of the original Winnie the Pooh books as well as the Disney animated films and television shows. It stars Ewan McGregor as a grown-up Christopher Robin, with Hayley Atwell playing his spirited wife Evelyn....

Prepare to put on your tinfoil sorting hats, there is a major fan theory fresh from the first trailer of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald about Claudia Kim’s mysterious new character. There was plenty to take in when watching the Crimes of Grindelwald teaser trailer, but one of the best bits was an up-close look at the Circus Arcanus. The magic version of a freak show, Kim’s character is reported to be part of the ensemble as an afflicted Maledictus - a wizard who is born with a blood curse that eventually turns them into a beast....

With just a few weeks to go until the release of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the news surrounding the franchise just keeps on coming. Firstly we heard that instead of being three movies, there will now be five, with creator and screenplay writer J.K. Rowling assuring fans that there is a need and scope for five films to be made. After that, Fantastic Beasts co-star, Ezra Miller, explained a little more about the film’s connection to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, confirming what many had suspected: the franchise will eventually focus on the Dark Wizard Grindelwald’s rise to power....

Spider-Man: Far From Home writers Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers reveal that the film’s mid-credit plot twist was supposed to happen earlier. Teaming up with director Jon Watts to officially close Marvel Cinematic Universe’s The Infinity Saga, McKenna and Sommers had their work cut for them considering that they’re the first film after Avengers: Endgame. Far From Home had to iron out a lot of details coming off of Thanos’ success and eventual defeat, especially with regard to “The Blip....

Apple today opened a new retail store in The Bronx at The Mall at Bay Plaza. This marks the first time Apple has had a store in The Bronx borough of New York City. The new store features an updated design with several new elements not seen before in other stores. New features range from an all-new space dedicated specifically for in-store pick-up to newly designed Today at Apple tables....

Betty Gabriel, one of the many standout performers in Get Out, has joined the cast of Counterpart in season 2. Gabriel left quite an impression as Georgina in the Oscar-nominated film from first-time writer-director Jordan Peele, and can be seen again this year in the Blumhouse thriller Upgrade alongside Logan Marshall-Green, as well as in season 2 of HBO’s Westworld. That’s definitely a full dance card, but now she’ll be joining the second season of one of the best-reviewed series so far this year, in what sounds like a pivotal role....

The controversial new hard reboot/reset Ghostbusters movie is gearing up to hit theaters this July and while the film is polarizing one part of the Ghostbusters fan community, many others are excited to see a fresh take on the supernatural action-comedy. The news has been starting to flow about the film, ever since the release of the first official trailer back in early March.
