Ever since Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool) donned the super-tight outfit for 2011’s Green Lantern, the franchise, on-screen at least, has been going through a rough patch. Costing a reported $200 million to make, the film only grossed about $220 million worldwide, making it a flop for Warner Bros. Pictures (due to its combined production and marketing costs) that effectively sealed the fate of additional Green Lantern films for the immediate future....

Two pieces of art recently uploaded to the Rockstar Games website have fans speculating about the possibility of a Grand Theft Auto 6 announcement soon, but it’s unclear if that’s what Rockstar is teasing - or if it’s even teasing anything at all. Fans have also suggested the teases could point to a Bully 2 announcement, but this seems less likely than GTA 6 or something else. Fans first noticed Rockstar’s new robot artwork, which depicts a feminine, golden robot posed with the Rockstar logo near a bottle of champagne....

The Doctor is in the house, and it’s just as well, since Doctor Who has been absent from our screens for what seems like an awfully long time. Doctor Who has had a tradition of debuting a new season every year since its 2005 relaunch, so it has seemed a little strange not to have Peter Capaldi and his TARDIS on the air this fall. However, Doctor Who will soon be back with its annual Christmas special, followed by season 10 (which will air in the spring of 2017)....

Doctor Who might not be airing a full season this year, but we’ve still got the annual Christmas special to look forward to, before season ten arrives in Spring 2017. It’s already been previously confirmed that the Doctor’s new companion, Bill, played by newcomer Pearl Mackie, won’t make her debut this Christmas. Instead, she will join the show as the Doctor’s new assistant during season 10. Also confirmed is the return of Matt Lucas as Nardole, whose character will play a more substantial role in proceedings this time around, though it’s not known for certain how many episodes he will appear in....

After being fined 10 times by a Dutch watchdog group, Apple is still under fire for its actions regarding App Store policies relating to dating apps, with the Netherlands Authority for Consumers & Markets (ACM) saying they are “insufficient.” The ACM says it will need up to several weeks to see what actions it will take next. The journalist Nando Kasteleijn shared on his Twitter this update on Apple’s case as the ACM could be readying another penalty for the Cupertino company:...

The 2018 Arrowverse crossover, “Elseworlds”, was almost named after a completely different DC Comics story, Identity Crisis. Written by Brad Meltzer, Identity Crisis was a 2004 limited series that starred the Justice League. The three-night event ended with Tuesday’s episode of Supergirl. The crossover, which also consisted of The Flash and Arrow, saw Arkham Asylum doctor John Deegan (Jeremy Davies) rewrite reality with the help of The Monitor (LaMonica Garrett), causing Barry (Grant Gustin) and Oliver (Stephen Amell) to swap lives....

The world of comic books lost a legend this year with the passing of Stan Lee, co-creator of many of the most famous superheroes of Marvel Comics. To celebrate his life, Screen Rant Docs takes a look back at the true story of Stan Lee - from his early days writing instructional videos for the army during World War II, to his cameos in dozens of Marvel movies. Born in 1922, Stan Lee would have turned 96 this month, and lived a rich and hard-working life long past the age when most people would have retired....

In an exclusive interview with Screen Rant, Bumblebee stars Hailee Steinfeld and John Cena say they aren’t worried about the film’s box office numbers. This is in response to Bumblebee being the lowest-grossing film in the Transformers franchise. Directed by Travis Knight (Kubo and the Two Strings), Bumblebee is the sixth movie in the Transformers franchise. In the ’80s-set film - a prequel to Michael Bay’s Transformers - Steinfeld stars as Charlie Watson, a teenager who receives a yellow Volkswagen Beetle for her 18th birthday shortly after the death of her father....

A new deal has been reached in the odd FAA 5G battle, with mobile carriers agreeing to a further delay to the rollout of additional 5G spectrum, despite yesterday saying they would not do so … Background The controversy began in November of last year. The FAA offered no explanation for its concerns, and carriers proposed a compromise: they would reduce power near airports (radio altimeters are primarily used in the final phase of landing, telling pilots precisely how far they are above the ground)....

A con artist is currently being investigated by the FBI for impersonating Marvel Studios executive vice president Victoria Alonso. Alonso is an integral part of the team behind the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And while she’s not as visible as Kevin Feige is, she’s been part of the pioneering crew that kicked off the franchise in 2008 via Robert Downey Jr. and director Jon Favreau’s Iron Man. Alonso has produced every single MCU film to date, even a couple of the now discontinued Marvel One-Shots....

Elaine Miller in Almost Famous Cameron Crowe based his movie Almost Famous on his own experiences as a young, fledgling rock journalist. The mother of the lead protagonist, Frances McDormand’s character Elaine Miller, was based on Crowe’s own mother. In keeping with the character, Crowe’s actual mother showed up on the film’s set to keep an eye on him. The director initially told her to leave McDormand alone, but McDormand saw an opportunity to deepen her character and became friends with Crowe’s mother....

The Golden Globes 2019 kicked off awards season with some big surprises and some very weird wins. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association is an oft-mocked organization who have managed to insert themselves into the Oscar conversation through sheer will and good timing alone. A group with around 90 members, all of whom are journalists and photographers who report on the entertainment industry for non-American media, the HFPA are widely derided for their hunger for fame and questionable decisions....

By the looks of it, and according to everyone involved in the film, it seems like Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is going to be even bigger and more expanded than the first film. Focused on a much more personal story this time around, that being the relationship between Peter Quill/Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) and his biological father, Ego the Living Planet (Kurt Russell), while also featuring even more inventive and colorful space battles than before, it seems like writer and director James Gunn is doing everything he can to deliver once again, with some mighty high expectations to try and live up to after Chris Pratt even called it the biggest spectacle film of all time....

One of the biggest concerns for most people heading into Guardians of the Galaxy was how well Marvel Studios and director James Gunn would be able to bring a talking raccoon and tree to life on the big screen. As fate would have it, Rocket Raccoon and Groot, voiced by Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel respectively, become breakout characters from the film as the contrasting duo pulled at the heartstrings of every audience member....

The Christmas Special is an honored TV tradition (in the UK, at least), and Whovians worldwide look forward to the festive adventures of the Doctor each December. This year, fans of Doctor Who are especially excited to see the Doctor return, as season 10 of the series was delayed until 2017, making this the only time that we’ll see our favorite Time Lord in 2016. As a result, the Christmas Special is an even bigger deal than usual, and will be getting a special theatrical release so that Whovians can watch the standalone episode on the big screen....
