After 15 years in the making, a fan-made high-definition remake of Half-Life, Black Mesa, has officially released. Volunteer developers banned together to form Crowbar Collective, a small game development team, with the hopes of producing a high-quality remake of the beloved game. The release of Black Mesa couldn’t come at a more opportune time. Valve’s Half-Life: Alyx announcement came as a pleasant surprise, considering fans doubted the community would ever see a “Half-Life 3”....

Josh Gad has responded to a new fan-made mash-up of Frozen 2 and Game of Thrones that features the Ice Queen Elsa and Tormund Giantsbane. Though these characters are from two very different franchises, the mash-up is surprisingly fitting, given both characters’ relationship with snowy landscapes. In Game of Thrones, Tormund (Kristofer Hivju) spends his time on the show in the North. Originally located north of the Wall, the furthest south he goes in Westeros is Winterfell; and even during the final “battle” in King’s Landing setting up the series finale, he doesn’t venture south....

Although Star Wars: The Force Awakens was heralded as the return of the franchise after a ten-year hiatus following Revenge of the Sith, it wasn’t as if the Star Wars brand was dormant for all that time. New director Ron Howard has revealed his first big casting addition for Han Solo by sharing a picture of Paul Bettany on the film’s set. Lucasfilm’s young Han Solo movie encountered a shocking change a few months ago when it was revealed that directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller had been fired. This was a result of their directorial style not meshing well with what Lucasfilm initially envisioned, and put them on a hunt to find a replacement director....

Ma is the latest horror movie offering from Blumhouse, but does it feature a post-credits scene? Jason Blum’s production company has been churning out hit after hit in recent years, thanks to a combination of their low-budget model and creative quality control. Oscar Isaac is the latest A-lister to join the cast of Denis Villeneuve’s Dune reboot. The original Dune novel by Frank Herbert was published in 1965 and its influence continues to be felt across the sci-fi genre today. Villeneuve has admitted it was one of the pinnacle sci-fi works that made him want to work in the genre to begin with and once called it his “longstanding dream” to adapt the novel to the big screen....

Guillermo del Toro has revealed no less than 17 movie ideas which he developed into full-blown screenplays that were never produced into films. According to Fear The Walking Dead’s showrunners, season 4’s new villains are more of a philosophical threat compared to previous villains in the franchise. Fear The Walking Dead returned recently with a heavily marketed crossover event that saw Morgan Jones travel over to the spinoff from parent series, The Walking Dead. With just a handful of episodes to go until the show ends, HBO is pulling out all the stops to ensure season 7 is the biggest one yet....

New photos taken from the set of the Game of Thrones prequel series, working title Bloodmoon though an official title hasn’t been set, suggest that fans will get to see a new house on the show. HBO initially ordered the prequel series in 2018, nearly a year before the finale aired for the original series. No one knows a lot about the show yet, except that it takes place nearly 5,000 years before the events of Game of Thrones during a time when Westeros was made up of 100 small kingdoms....
