Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe debuted with Captain America: Civil War, which released to the the tune of over $1 billion worldwide and positive reviews. Following Civil War, Doctor Strange hit theaters and took in an impressive $664 million, as well as a solid 90% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The MCU looks to continue going strong with this year’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, the sequel to 2014’s off-kilter MCU hit....

Despite rumors to the contrary, director Christopher Landon has confirmed that there are no plans for a Happy Death Day 3 in the works. The first Happy Death Day film was released in 2017 and starred Jessica Rothe as college student Tree Gelbman, who is murdered on her birthday and finds herself stuck in a time loop and forced to relive the day of her death until she can discover the identity of her masked killer and prevent her own murder....

Game of Thrones alum Maisie Williams is joining the cast of an upcoming Apple TV+ series The New Look. The drama takes place during the World War II Nazi Occupation of Paris as CoCo Chanel reigns as the world’s most famous fashion designer. That reign comes to an end when Christian Dior’s fame rises as he offers the world his ground-breaking and iconic brand. Williams joins series leads Ben Mendelsohn who plays Christian Dior and Juliette Binoche who plays Gabrielle ‘Coco’ Chanel....

One of the ways that Battlefield V will look to distance itself from past games is via a new focus on customization through what’s called The Company system. IDC is out with its latest estimate of global smartphone shipments, and it says that Apple overtook Xiaomi in Q3 to take second place after Samsung. While the market intelligence company describes iPhone growth as “incredible,” this is in large part down to timing. There was also good news for Apple in China… IDC showed iPhone shipments climb from 41.7M in Q3 2020 to 50.4M in the same quarter this year....

Bad news for gamers wishing to try out Google Stadia without making any purchases: there will be no beta period for the game streaming service. Google announced Stadia and its ambitious plan for cloud-based gaming at GDC 2019. Stadia separates itself from other cloud-based gaming services by supporting gameplay on multiple platforms that will allow subscribers to take their games with them wherever they go: they can play on their PCs, laptops and smartphones....
