During Google I/O 2022, Apple was indirectly referenced in a not-so-subtle jab over its lack of RCS support for iPhone users. RCS, or Rich Communication Services, is the modern upgrade to SMS texting that Apple leapfrogged with iMessage over a decade ago. “We hope that every mobile operating system gets the message, and upgrades to RCS, so your messages are private, no matter what device you’re using,” a company executive argued during the presentation....

Pacific Rim director Guillermo del Toro was unable to wait out production delays and had to bail on helming the sequel Pacific Rim Uprising, but it’s been revealed that del Toro did stay extensively involved with production on the second film - offering his maestro’s input during the shooting process. An official Pacific Rim Uprising trailer has now been released online too, affording fans their first taste of the “new generation” sequel to the 2013 Jaeger-vs-Kaiju action epic....

There are shots fired as Donald Glover dispels the rumors surrounding his canceled Deadpool: The Animated Series. Season 2 of Doom Patrol has been confirmed. As well as returning to the DC Universe streaming platform, the comic book superhero series will also stream simultaneously on HBO Max, WarnerMedia’s streaming service set to launch early next year. Most of the show’s characters were first introduced in an episode of Titans titled after the team, and then spun off into their own series where they face the machinations of a nigh-omnipotent madman....

Having taken on a multitude of different roles and challenges over the years, including singing in Disney’s smash hit Moana and producing a host of TV shows and films, the Jumanji star seems to be keen on tackling bigger and more diverse career challenges with each passing year. Since his days as WWE personality The Rock, Dwayne Johnson has maintained a steady career trajectory, one in which his fanbase has grown from just wrestling fans into more mainstream demographics....

The long saga of EA’s Star Wars license continued earlier this week when reports emerged that indicated the publisher had cancelled its upcoming Star Wars game. Now, further updates from those familiar with the project have suggested that EA made the decision to scrap the open-world Star Wars game in favor of a newer, smaller-scale Star Wars title instead. EA has battled a persistent negative reputation recently. Part of that reputation stems from a troubling trend of rushing titles....

Now, another YouTuber claims that you’ll probably not be able to replace your iPhone 13’s screen with third-party repair centers without losing access to Face ID. Phone Repair Guru shows in a new video that although it’s easier to replace some screen components, once the user needs to get a new screen, they’ll probably need to go to Apple or an authorized center to get the iPhone fixed....

Facebook continues to share more details about what exactly caused the six-hour outage that took down Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, and WhatsApp on Monday. In a new blog post, Facebook dives into some of the technical details of what led to the outage, saying that it happened due to a mistake during one of its many “routine maintenance jobs.” Facebook published its first recap of the outage late on Monday evening, attributing it to a single mistake that had a “cascading effect” on data center communication, therefore “bringing our services to a halt....

When Noah Hawley announced he was going to make Fargo, a TV show based on the Coen Brother’s 1996 film, people were intrigued to see how well it would translate to an episodic drama on the small screen. As it happens, it worked incredibly well, and Hawley enjoyed critical and commercial success with season one, which starred Martin Freeman and Billy Bob Thornton, as well as with season two, which featured a larger cast including Patrick Wilson, Kristen Dunst, Jesse Plemons, and Ted Danson....

The first public appearance of Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and D. B. Weiss since the final episode of the show aired will no longer be happening, as they’ve pulled out of a panel appearance at San Diego Comic-Con 2019. The duo had previously been confirmed as taking part.
