It’s hard to think of a more groundbreaking anime movie than Ghost in the Shell (1995). Based off the acclaimed manga, the film set a new bar for the format and it has since gone on to become a classic in the genre. Ghost in the Shell’s worldwide popularity is largely due to its complex ideas concerning human existence, technology and corruption. And even though the manga has inspired many adaptations over the years, including Scarlett Johansson’s upcoming live-action version, the original anime still reigns supreme....

There’s little that people don’t know about Lorelai and Rory from the Gilmore Girls. The show has been around for a while now, and one could say it has just as loyal a fan base as it ever did. But with shows we hold close to our hearts, there also comes a degree of willfully turning a blind eye to some of the less noticeable aspects of the show that hide in plain sight....

There will be SPOILERS.] – For seven years, the original run of Gilmore Girls followed the lives of Lorelai Gilmore (Lauren Graham), her daughter Rory (Alexis Bledel) and their various relationships with family, friends, coworkers, significant others, and the residents of their small Connecticut town of Stars Hollow. However, the show’s creator Amy Sherman-Palladino, and her producing partner/husband Dan Palladino, did not return for the series’ seventh and final season, leaving fans wondering how Gilmore Girls would have concluded if not for the behind-the-scenes reshuffling....

Directed by Dan Scanlon (Monsters University) from a script he co-wrote with Jason Headley and Keith Bunin, Onward stars Tom Holland and Chris Pratt as the film’s two main characters....

Zendaya is reportedly being eyed to play Timothée Chalamet’s love interest in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune adaptation. After demonstrating a real knack for sci-fi cinema with the one-two punch of Arrival and Blade Runner 2049, the ever-ambitious Villeneuve is turning his attention to a long-gestating passion project. He’s talked about his desire to bring Frank Herbert’s seminal works back to the big screen since 2016, though the pieces only started to fall into place last year, when Chalamet signed on to play lead character Paul Atreides....

A new teaser poster has been released for Godzilla vs. Kong. After Godzilla goes head to head with Ghidorah, the giant Kaiju will be going up against King Kong in 2020. The MonsterVerse kicked off in 2014 with Gareth Edwards’ Godzilla, before introducing King Kong in Kong: Skull Island. This weekend the series will continue with Godzilla: King of the Monsters, which will set up Godzilla vs. Kong. Godzilla vs. Kong is now less than a year away, so fans already know quite a bit about the project....

Over the weekend, Apple announced that it will allow developers of dating apps in the Netherlands to use alternative payment systems other than its own In-App Purchase system. This announcement from Apple came in response to new regulations in the Netherlands. Now, the government says that it will need to vet Apple’s proposed to changes to make sure they comply with those regulations. As reported by Reuters, the Dutch Authority for Consumers and Markets announced in a statement today that it will now “asses whether Apple’s response is adequate....

Tim Sweeney, CEO of Epic Games, has announced that Epic will cover the cost of all Shenmue 3 Kickstarter refunds for players upset that the game will be an Epic Games Store exclusive at launch. Originally funded back in the summer of 2015, Shenmue 3 will finally be released August 27 of this year. Sweeney’s comments addressed a controversy that’s been roiling since early June, when Ys Net and Deep Silver, the game’s developer and publisher, revealed that it would be an Epic Games Store exclusive....

Facebook announced today that it’s bringing its popular Reels function from Instagram to its main app for some US users. According to a report by the Verge, Facebook Reels will “show up for some users in the News Feed and within Groups, where people can watch them together.” Facebook says it’s already testing this in India, Mexico, and Canada. Facebook is trying to compete with the growing influence of TikTok, which is the only non-Facebook app to reach 3 billion downloads in app stores....

Mozilla is out with a notable update for its Firefox browser today. Building on its focus of privacy and customization, the new release comes with the new Firefox View feature that lets users see up to 25 of their most recently closed tabs plus three active tabs on other devices.
