Former Doctor Who showrunner Russell T. Davies has revealed brief descriptions of his possible future Doctors in a new novel. Davies was the man responsible for regenerating the iconic British science fiction series back in 2005, casting Christopher Eccleston in the titular role, Billie Piper as companion Rose Tyler, and transforming the franchise from a dormant property into an international success. Although Davies himself may have moved on to other projects, Doctor Who has continued on and recently announced that actress Jodie Whittaker would be the first woman to play the renegade Time Lord....

Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood explores 1969 Los Angeles culture, but does it feature an after-credits scene? One of the summer’s surprise successes was Don’t Breathe. Made for less than $10 million, the horror-thriller raked in nearly $90 million domestically before ending with a $152.5 million haul worldwide. The film followed Rocky (Jane Levy), Alex (Dylan Minnette), and Money (Daniel Zovatto) as they broke into the house of an unsuspecting blind man, played by Stephen Lang. Gamers have been breaking their controllers over the Donkey Kong Country series ever since 1994. Fans were happy to put up with the intense difficulty and challenge due to the amazing graphics (at the time) and the enjoyable 2D platforming. With the release of Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze on Nintendo Switch, the series is still going strong 20 years later. The original Dragon Ball anime series followed Goku on his adventures throughout the world. After he defeated Piccolo during the 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament, the series took a five-year time skip. The show was brought back as Dragon Ball Z, even though the original manga kept the name without the Z. Goku now had an infant son, named Gohan, who was named after Goku’s adopted father. Within minutes of his introduction, Gohan is kidnapped by his evil uncle Raditz....

Dwayne Johnson is not afraid to address his feud with Tyrese Gibson regarding the upcoming Fast & Furious spinoff, and he did just that on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen. The feud has been going on since late 2017, when Gibson publicly chastised Johnson for being selfish about making a spinoff of their famous movie franchise with Jason Statham. The Hobbs and Shaw spinoff will hit theaters next year, followed by the as-yet untitled Fast & Furious 9 in 2020....

One complaint from new M1 Mac owners is that there doesn’t seem to be any way to enable 1440p Retina scaling on external monitors. Apple has never officially supported this on sub-4K monitors, but there were workarounds for Intel Macs that don’t work with any of the M1 machines. Epic Games has announced that the best Fortnite players in the world will soon be able to compete for a prize pool consisting of $100 million. The developer announced that their popular free-to-play third-person shooter will soon have a competitive season that will begin in 2018 and last into 2019. The competitive scene will focus on the game’s Battle Royale mode, and Epic says that they want to empower talented players to compete against the best....

This British tragicomedy was created and written by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who also stars as the titular character Fleabag. She is an angry, confused, sex-addicted woman living in London who must come to terms with the tragedies she’s experienced and move on. Olivia Colman, Sian Clifford, and Andrew Scott all star as equally complex characters that are trying to survive the decisions they’ve made. The show is particularly known for how it breaks the fourth wall and the loving but honest way it depicts a family trying to keep itself together....

A leaked Meta internal memo from late April reveals the plan to entirely transform Facebook’s feed to become more TikTok-like. In addition, the company’s executives want to reintegrate Messenger back into Facebook’s main app, revealed a report. The Verge obtained this leaked memo that shows the plans from the Meta executive in charge of Facebook, Tom Alison. The publication reported: Facebook wants to combine recommended posts with Reels. The same already happens with Instagram, and it could help “reverse the app’s stagnant growth and potentially lure back young people....

Facebook is getting ready to take the next step with its Oculus virtual-reality headset platform. In an unexpected move, the company has been working to integrate Oculus VR workouts with Apple Health — the app built into iOS that manages all the health data of iPhone and Apple Watch users. The feature was detailed by Bloomberg and then confirmed by developer Steve Moser, who found details about this integration in the code of Oculus’ iOS app....

The first poster image has been released for Kevin Smith’s Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, revealing the duo’s comic book alter egos in updated movie form. The film follows the eponymous stoners as they discover that the previous movie based on the comic book superheroes drawn with their physical likenesses is getting a reboot, and so travel across the country to Hollywood to put a stop to it. If this sounds suspiciously similar to the plot of 2001’s Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back, that’s precisely the point....
